Oh dear... I'm not found of that new cover. I don't mind a big ass on a girl but anotomically correct is best (even though that's not a flattering angle). Think I'll fold the covers over for the original when I get this.

I've got to agree on the cover. I've appreciated Arrow's efforts in creating lurid cover art in the past. It certainly works for certain titles (anything by Fulci comes to mind) but Inferno isn't exactly the sleaze-fest that this cover suggests.
I'll be using the original artwork too, assuming the transfer is a step up from the DVD, of course!

Yeah, that's the worst cover art i've seen. A big fat arse right in the middle of the cover They must buy themselves a new set of crayons. I hate most of Arrow's covers, i've no idea what stereotype they're trying to pander too.
But then, i've much love for their discs. I love City of the Living Dead and I've already pre-ordered this one. Can't wait.

I voted in the poll for The Beyond. Surprised there wasnt much support for a DVD only version, probably because, like DOTD, we've already got it on DVD.
I'd pay full RRP price for The Beyond on Blu!

Aren't these covers supposed to be a homage to the lurid cover art of the 1980's video nasties? These didn't exactly represent the actual content of the film but sold them on the basis of a lurid or sleazy image. I have to say I quite like them, and at least you get the option of other covers.
Arrow seem to be releasing a great range of classic horror on Blu - keep it up!

Inferno was never released in a cover like that, it was a Fox release and had the dark 'classy' cover.
It's good that you do get a choice of cover, but they could save money by just releasing the good cover and then spend that saved money on releasing more blurays.

I voted for BD and DVD. I was going to vote just for BD but I didn't want to exclude people who haven't adopted blu-ray yet.

I agree that Inferno was never released with a cover like this, all of the Arrow horror releases are having newly commissioned art work as one of the covers (a homage to video nasty covers).
As much as I like them I also agree that one good cover and more releases would be preferable. It's the content of the disc that counts in the end.

Wow, really good looking package. Sadly I don't much care for this film (loved Suspiria and Crystal Plumage)

My copy arrived today. Not watched it yet, but had a quick gander and the PQ looks incredible. This is my favourite Argento, can't wait to watch it over the weekend.

Has anyone watched this yet? Mine turned up today but haven't had a look yet. Packaging is nice, but that 'girls arse' cover is really terrible. If I saw this in a shop, I'd think it was some cheap rip off of Inferno and pass it by.

Graham, do you think it's the image looks film-like, texturally?

I thought so. I stuck it on tonight just to see and ended up watching it all the way through. I find Inferno terribly mesmerising. Beautifully shot and with a very strange rythym to it, which is helped enourmously by the score.
Image wise, it looks great to me, not too over processed, just the right amount of grain. It seems quite soft in places, which won't be to everyone's taste, I dont think, but it suits the material.
Sounds great too. Clear, bright and deep. Nice bass rumbles

I agree with this. The colours - and this film is all about red, purple and blue - just look gorgeous.
I have no hesitation in recommending this blu-ray, although no doubt someone will crop up to complain about something or other.

Me neither. It is quite soft, there's a few shots that look very low res, but not many and it doesnt matter because the colours stay strong. The Rome classroom shots look a bit soft, for example, but not all of them.
The sound is particularly good, I always liked the sound design of this, and love the way it all flows...from the piano to the verdi to the weird synth bits, punctuated with the rumblings of the building, the clasutrophobic underwater scene, footsteps and so on. It all sounds crisp, bright and deep.
I didnt have that many problems with Suspiria, which has its faults, and I watched over the weekend again to 'prepare' for Inferno, but I think this will please people more.
I still hate the cover (thanks for putting that one on the disc as well so there's no chance of not seeing it) but the disc is excellent.

I truly believe Inferno is Argento's most creative and inspired masterpiece. Can't wait for my order to arrive.
