The Pakistani's don't mess around in England conditions. Their bowlers are made for it.

228-4 looks a bit better than 118-4 as this is developing into a really good partnership.

Pakistan have 2 excellent bowlers to correct the first post. The rest look ordinary.

Morgan survives on referral - working pretty well for England today!

DeSilva is a poor umpire who shouldn't be on the elite list.

Aided by some very poor wicketkeeping by Akmal who not only dropped Strauss for 5, missed a easy stumping, It is Australia (away) all over again for him.

Cracking knock from Morgan. Some very poor bowling from what I have seen.

Superb innings from Morgan who must have felt a bit under pressure coming into this match after his poor series against Bangladesh and with Bopara breathing right down his neck but he has responded in fine style.

Technically morgan doesn't look the best but his composure and ability to put the bowlers under pressure make him excellent. It'll be interesting to see what happens when Bell becomes fit - but I do like Morgan and Collingwood in the middle order who both seem to do well in high pressure situations.

We've got a very capable batting line up at the moment, I think our bowling looks ok but its going to suffer a bit in non swinging conditions unless finn can continue developing

Warne was saying that he thinks that Cook is the player who is most under pressure and that if he was dropped Trott might move up to open but that is if and buts and I can't see Cook being dropped just yet.

Fairly happy with the current batting lineup - agree with the Warner though that Cook should be the most worried of the top order. KP simply needs time in the middle as he's essentially only playing for England now with no country to play for. A couple of county championship innings would have done him a world of good I reckon. To drop him would be suicidal I reckon ahead of the Ashes though. He's still our best player and is just out of form for me.

He's (Cook) the next captain-in-waiting so doubt he will be dropped. Why has Bell got to automatically come back in anyway? He isn't always the best fit for the Aussie fight.

There is no guarantee he will walk back into the side but prior to his injury he was in the best form he has been in for a long time and is experienced at both the test level and has played in Ashes series before.

because he had finally worked out his mental gremlins that let him down.

I would say if cook was to be dropped maybe you would look at stephen moore coming in to open and drop prior leaving a slot for an alrounder/extra batsman. However the cook/strauss partnership is a massive strength imo and although he's had a bit of lean run he's a quality bat and still very young - give him time and keep faith and I think he'll reward that patience

He recently was the second youngest batsman to pass 4000 runs - the only batsman to surpass that was sachin tendulker. I think theres probably some quality there to do that.

Farhat drops an easy chance in the slips and gives Morgan another life.
