Thanks Gareth. I've also read that, but unfortunately no one has actually checked it on a US player. Also, it seems that the majority of ICON titles are actually Region-free (BLACK SHEEP, 30 DAYS OF NIGHT, etc.) as seen on this site:
http://bluray.liesinc.net/index.php?region=b
But a few (IN BRUGES, CITY OF EMBER, etc.) are not. TRIANGLE is not on the list at all, so I'm hoping someone out there is actually able to verify.

Watched this last night, pleased I rented it now instead of buying it cheap from HMV... despite having a nice lenticular slipcase!
It's a poor man's The Shining... on a boat!
God! I've got Untraceable to sit through tonight

While I wouldn't call THE SHINING crap, I agree it has nothing in common with TRIANGLE. But at least TRIANGLE has a rationale, cause & effect, while SHINING has none.

The Shining crap?
Triangle has a lot in common with The Shining. Both thematically and also there is a direct lift;

That was done by the filmmakers on purpose...but the character in THE SHINING is not in a loop, is he? If you wanted to, you could go all the way back to DEAD OF NIGHT or TWO LOST WORLDS and say TRIANGLE has something in common with them! What TRIANGLE does is take elements that one might have found in various films of the past, applies many new aspects/wrinkles and takes one on a journey of discovery (and thought) that does not end when the film does.

Spoilers man!
Anyway, I didn't say they were identical did I? The themes of
Triangle also has a lot in common with Neil Marshall's The Descent - including two lifts from that film.
Irrespective, it's certainly Christopher Smith's most satisfying film to date.

Smith says in the commentary there is a lot of influence from the Shinning, but he tried to make it, its own film...

I picked up on it and I never listened to any of the commentary, I never watched any of the extras or read anything about it at.
Most I knew was that the BD had a lenticular slipcase and it was cheap at HMV

Unfortunately, the U.S. release has no extras...not even commentary! That's why I was hoping that someone could confirm whether or not the UK Blu-Ray version is Region-Locked or not.

I will admit The Shining will pop up in most horror films, it is just the way the world goes little things from that film are hard to avoid, as frankly it tried to shoe-horn in everything, and the Kitchen sink but I can see why people love that film.

Amen Brother Creep had me gripped, until you saw the monster and he did his thing a poor joke from there on in, but worth a watch I guess.
Still his second film Severence is a bloody cracker, love that film. Better every time I watch it, the perfect cast and tone His best film for me, so much fun.
Cannot wait to see his new film in a week, Black Death

Just tested this for you and the UK Blu Ray IS locked to Region B, sorry
By far the best film i've seen this year btw. Loved every minute of it, and the Blu Ray has fantastic audio. It's not often you get a film where even some of the speech comes out of the rears to really immerse you in a scene. Loved how you get sort of used to the twisty nature of the plot, then it smacks you round the head with a sledgehammer sized bunch of them later on

Thanks for checking Marc. Damn...I hate to buy the bare-bones American releases, but since it doesn't seem to be available elsewhere, I guess I have no choice. I agree that it's probably the best movie I've seen this year (and maybe longer). The "Sallys" scene alone sure packs a wallop!

I would add the image on the UK Blu is pretty much perfect as well amazing transfer and sound for a smaller film make me happy, esspecailly when the massive Blockbusters still manage get problems with their image and sound.
It never looked this nice in the cinema when I saw it

Certainly, anyone expecting the usual by-the-numbers horror flick is going to be disappointed. I'd consider it more of a mystery/psychological suspense thriller for thinking people, and not a horror movie.

I actually really liked Creep. I thought it was a good premise and had some decent scares. It's let down a tad by some truly shocking acting by Franke Potente, but she's hot so i'll let her off
Severance was good too although it ran out of steam in the final act i felt. I think i prefer "The Cottage" as a horror comedy although that wasn't very popular so i may be alone there.
