That's pretty much what Cesc was saying

It was OK - it passed the time. I think in these very early pre season games, the players are only really looking for fitness rather than performance. Almunia had a nightmare to put us 1-0 down, but then had little else to do. Wilshere was probably our best player, Ashi looked bored, Bendtner, RvP & Ramsey played quite well.

Speaking to Arsenal TV Online after Tuesday’s tour victory over SC Columbia, Wenger admitted that Nasri’s injury is a blow to his 2009/10 preparations. But the manager is buoyed by the imminent return to full fitness of two other forward-thinking Gunners.

“Unfortunately he fractured his fibula and he will be out for six weeks,” the manager said. “It was the bad news of the day.

“He accidentally nicked the ball away from somebody having a shot on goal. Unfortunately he got kicked and broke his fibula. It's not a complicated one, it's a simple one but it will take six weeks to heal.

“But the options are Tomas Rosicky who is back. And in [those] two months Eduardo will be back as well. We do have offensive options but we don’t want to lose important players before the season starts.”

Good and bad news then.

Looks like Chamakh is being heavily pursued by Sunderland. I reckon he'd choose Arsenal over Sunderland, but that depends on you guys being able to match the bid from Sunderland.

Quotes on arsenal analysis (supposedly) from Eduardo:

"I am completely ready physically. I was told that I will play between 20 and 30 minutes on the 27th July when we play against Szombatelya. Two days later against Hannover 96 I will play a half."

Very good news if correct.

It is

Seems that the quotes had inputted a full stop incorrectly that made it sound like EdS would be out for two months when in fact Wenger said/ meant he would be available during those two months

Cole's just showing himself up to all fans again to be a right royal ****.

I was going to post about this....as good a player as he can be, he was shockingly incosistent.

Even that goal against Spurz could not disguise that he needs 3 shots on target to get a goal!

& hide you should. As soon as I heard it on sky I thought "Peter will jump on this story!"
I notice that he only focused on the negative, there were plenty of people cheering him, but they don't get a mention.

He's not Eduardo but look at these Premier League stats - they can't be argued with!

2007/8 - top 3 scorers
Ronaldo 31 goals = 24% conversion rate
Ade 24 goals = 23% conversion rate
Torres 24 goals = 25% conversion rate

2008/9 - top 3 scorers
Anelka 19 goals = 21% conversion rate
Ronaldo 18 goals = 17% conversion rate
Gerrard 16 goals = 16% conversion rate

Adebayor 10 goals = 18% conversion rate (Torres 19%)

I've already posted the games started:goals scored ratio to balance the above stats with appearances.

It's just so infuriating to see the 2008 team, imo, right on the cusp of winning a number of trophies being dismantled with a big helping hand from 'those'.

How unusual is it for Wenger to say anything negative about the fans? Even when Song & Eboue were on the end of some disgraceful treatment it was always along the lines of 'the fans expect the team to do well and it's up to us to deliver it'.

Now he's blaming us for not helping Ade to get his 2008 season confidence levels back, and Ade is quite rightly scratching his head at the Cesc speculation.

Since that Birmingham game there's grown now a tidal wave of sour feelings around Arsenal at the moment and I'm really fearful of what this season's going to bring. I read an article yesterday on Vital Arsenal about how, seemingly, since Gazidis has arrived the club are trying to reform/ strengthen that bond with the fans that's been weakened. Worth a read imo.

I disagree, whilst he's always had his fair share of critics from the 'never gonna be good enough' brigade (like most players), the majority feeling whether inside or outside the ground has overwhelmingly been negative since last summer.

Agreed with much of that post but Cesc has always said he's not going anywhere whereas Ade seemed absolutely thrilled at the idea of going - "Beyonce" etc. That's the difference.

Well there were quotes from him about how flattering it was to be linked with Milan and Barca and his family would understand if he signed for Madrid blah blah blah.

Nothing different from what Ade said. Or Sagna this season. Or RvP. Or Clichy. Or.... you get the point. Misconstrued or not.

Is there still meant to be a 1000 post limit? If so, you need to start a new thread Pete.

I'm not suggesting that the vast majority backed him, but there were plenty (I didn't go to every home game, but I went to enough). You, like Ade, chose to totally ignore them - but then you would, it suits your loathing for Arsenals fans .

Are you really arguing with me that a majority of Gooners haven't looked at Adebarndoor/ Greedybayour/ Arabspaymore (my favourite)/ Lazybayour etc with anything other than scorn and revisionism for the past year?

The reason Pete refers to them as 'they' is because he's not talking about all Arsenal fans, just the more fickle of them, even though it may not seem like that sometimes. Not that I'm defending him, like

And Pete, thought you found the Greedybayor song amusing when they first sang it.
