No ******* brainer
I may be a little unfair on Melo judging him on the few games I've seen him in, but I wouldn't do a straight swap for them let alone Eboue + cash. I know he had a couple of REALLY bad games last season, but he seems to be over it, & he provides good cover for both Feo & Sagna (neither of whom were outstanding last term).

Nose and face again

Ade might've been a lazy sod last season but as United have shown, good strikers do not grow on trees; and Ade is a good one - one of the better ones when he can be bothered. Someone posted this on AWIMB last night - 'has there ever been a player with such a good record scoring against Spurs that's been as hated?'

No chance.

--

Keown sets the record straight(ish) on Cole's accusation of Senderos ignoring him:

Speaking exclusively to sport.co.uk, Keown stressed that Cole’s version of events didn’t necessarily tally up with his own memories working with Senderos.

“I think Ashley was probably referring to the general arrogance of Philippe that may have been apparent at that time. Since then I’ve seen the complete opposite; he was very sure of himself but he appears to have gone the other way and become too critical of himself.

“I was asked to work in a mentoring fashion and perhaps Ashley saw something which he deemed not overly respectful. However, it wasn’t something that Philippe demonstrated to me.. There were a lot of positives from my time with the side and I think many of the guys were disappointed when I left. There was never a problem working with Philippe, I played alongside him after all…I think it was perhaps Ashley not warming to him like he did to the rest of us."

Asked whether Senderos still has a future under Arsene Wenger and if he can force himself into a defensive line-up bolstered by the arrival of Belgian international Thomas Vermaelen, Keown added:

“If he has been able to learn from his loan move and if he is given another chance, he’s only going to be better. The thing with Philippe is he needs to learn the game.

“He’s a highly intelligent individual but at times he’s made elementary mistakes on the pitch. Football intelligence is a different experience to that off-field. What will be fascinating to see is whether he has improved those elements that he needed to.

“The frustrating thing with him is that he has the raw materials to be an outstanding player. Too often though he was involved in bad mistakes. As a defender you don’t want to be around goals being conceded – he was.

“He may have got that out of his game, but if he’s not given the chance at Arsenal I still think he has a big career ahead of him.”

Sell Cesc for £40m? What's that all about??? You'll make a net loss when you end up dumped out of 4th spot by Everton, City, or Villa. Crazy if true.

Similar to Ronaldo, if a players wants to go there is nothing a club can do to keep him.

Ronaldo wanted to go at the end of the 07/08 season, yet SAF managed to keep him for an entire season more. At the end of the day, it comes down to will power and man management capabilities of the gaffer.

People can throw money around, but that doesn't mean they will leave, the desire still has to be there, look at Man City, all the top players are turning their money down.

4 (officially) now: http://www.arsenal.com/news/news-archive/van-persie

"My heart is with Arsenal and I just can’t picture myself in a different shirt. I just can’t see it now because I love this Club so much."

Good lad. Normally these throwaway 'I'ma-gonna-kiss-the-Barca-badge-next-season, MUGS' comments make me cringe but it's different for him imo, OurVP is ours. He's a Gooner

Not sure what Rosicky is saying here? Surely if he feels that he was fit to play at the end of last season, he should be ready for the start of the new season not have to wait for the autumn? Fingers crossed.

Arsenals TV games have been announced, including the first game of the season against Everton on ESPN
