Yeah we saw Bendtner acknowledging part of the crowd briefly at the other end of the pitch and if you stopped watching the game, squinted really hard and then concentrated really hard you could just make out something that resembled 'da, da, da-da-da'.

I was really surprised to hear how loud it came across on the TV as the attitude to him at our end was bad, no 'Super Nic' I could hear; not Ebou/Song-boo bad but still very unneeded as his finishing aside he had a good game.

It's frustrating that it seems to be his turn to catch it as it's really undeserved. You simply can't show me a team from this league who has a better striker after their first 3 (or one in one top 4 club) choices are out.

10 goals in 21 games (14 of which were as a sub)
4 or so assists?

He's only 21 and even on his poorest match this season for finishing on Saturday everyone can see how well he still linked up with the rest of the team. But still deemed 'not good enough for us' by those who no doubt will be cursing Wenger for 'lack of strength of depth' had he/ when he's not been here. Vela's got a looooong way to go yet....

I wonder if he'll get another go tomorrow in a game that seemingly everone's already had us win :nervous: Surely they wouldn't do it twice at the Emirates??!

I've made the prediction that whatever happens tomorrow will determine who you get in the champs league...

You beat Hull and you'll pull Chelsea in the Champs League.
You lose to Hull and you'll pull LFC in the Champs Leage.

All this based on the normal mid April triple same team game header that always seems to hit Arsenal.

Win and you'll be playing Chelsea in the cup that weekend, lose and you'll be playing LFC in the league.

Nicked this from the Telegraph's site...

While the Andrei Arshavin to Arsenal saga rumbled on, The Bung often wondered a number of things...

1) What is the quickest way to commit suicide in an office environment?
2) Why aren't more clubs interested in a player Guus Hiddink described as the best he's ever coached?
3) Why do Spurs keep spending money on players who aren't as good as Arshavin, most of whom they've previously sold?

Here's a brief summary of Tottenham's main transfer activity since summer 2008, when they were 'priced out' of a move for Arshavin, who eventually signed for Arsenal for £15 million:

July 2008: David Bentley: £17 million from Blackburn Rovers.
August 2008: Roman Pavlyuchenko: £14 million from Spartak Moscow.
January 2009: Robbie Keane: £16 million from Liverpool.
January 2009: Jermain Defoe: £15.5 million from Portsmouth.
January 2009: Wilson Palacios: £12 million from Wigan.

Can't decide whether Keane's, Bentley's or Defoe's is the funniest

The last few games have started to show some of the sceptics why Wenger's Arsenal needed him so much? A top top class player that I'm a wee bit gutted, for whatever reason, Wenger didn't get him when the first rumours about Arsenal interest started to circulate 3 or so years back. He's 28 in a few months Still, let's enjoy him whilst we can eh? Even if he is a scruffy sod.

LOL.

Looks silly when he's in the prematch lineup next to our Dane but next to a taller Adebayor he looks so small it's surely gotta be Photoshopped! Or not.

Tonight's team:

Fabianski
Sagna
Gallas
Djourou
Gibbs
Walcott
Song Billong
Diaby
Vela
Arshavin
Van Persie

Seems pretty strong. Was worried when the papers started talking of resting players. Seemed they only meant players like the new TGM and Bendtner. I'm confident but not overly so, still have memories of Hull at home in the league...
