It really doesn't say much though when even Berbatov put in more work

I suspect not but I always favour the view that success breeds success.

For a "team" like we are at the moment, ie putting out the strongest first teamers we had and see an almost complete lack of interest in traditionally our best chance of success, fills me with no confidence whatsoever.

If like Coppell or Ferguson, you dont have either cup as a priority, put out a team of fringe players rather than allowing so called first teamers to embarrass you and go out anyway.

Much better to try and win every game as this breeds confidence, rather than chopping and changing every five minutes for all the different competitions you might have fixtures in.

We have already lost to WBA so i'm not exactly counting on 3 points against Stoke on Tuesday.

As we always seem to be saying of late, lets hope that the transfer window brings us the right kind of player this time, rather than yet another vastly overpriced lightweight that doesnt deliver.

It came to the point in the second half where I was hoping for a third united goal just so I could switch it off, haven't been that frustrated watching a football match in years.

United were there for the taking, can't understand why we showed no hunger/determination. Dawson and Gunther did well, but as for the rest

Come on Harry, sort it out mate.

I thought BAE, Dawson, Zokora did well, PAv did ok. Hudd was a disgrace - made one good pass for the goal then lumbered around quite happy to be 5m from the ball and not close down. Bentley was better than he has been of late. Bale needs a shot of something has he is clearly bereft of confidence. Modric needs to get on the ball more and not give it away so easily. Gunter did ok. Was very disappointed with Tarrabt when he came on. He seemed happy to try step overs and lose it or just lay it off rather than go for goal.
Hoping to see more of Dos Santos as he at least was trying to get us back in it and has some pace.

It does make you wonder what the hell has been going on with our recent transfer policy when we're going round buying players we've only just sold.

I very much doubt we're paying more this time around. It is an odd signing though, particularly as the sale of Chimmy Bonda was more about his apptitude & attitude, rather than ability. We sold Defoe as his contract had around 18 months left, he wouldn't sign a new one & we had Keane, Bent & Berbatov; expecting only Dimitar to be departing in the short-term. Buying him back makes sense given our lack of goals & his proven goal scoring talent in the Premiership. Given 'Arrys supposed frustration with the lack of resilience, committment & desire by some of the squad, it's surprising he's in for someone hardly known for those qualitys. Hell, he had the audacity to rile Keane as soon as he got to Sunderland! All that said, I always thought he was a good rightback & adequate central cover. Maybe Hutton ain't coming back for a long time & he fancies Corluka as a centreback with Woodgate? Well, I'd be happy with that at least. Anyhoo it would appear Levy is certainly backing his manager. I just dare not think what Redknapp might have in store next. One of the sources on Spurs forums that said earlier in the night that Chimbonda was in London speaking to Tottenham, has said Kenwyne Jones to follow.

I had high hopes when we signed him as he'd been outstanding for Wigan. Sadly he turned out to be another that flattered to deceive. I'm beginning to wonder if there's something in the water at WHL.

I would be VERY disappointed to see him back.

Apparently Keane (alledegedly) walked out during pre-match today against Everton.

Do you want him back?

Getting chimbonda back might be a good move. He will offer us an attacking option going down the right hand flank. Teaming up with lennon or bentley makes the right look good. As said by previous posts he will need to show the right attitude and play for the shirt.

Have heard the stories on jones 6m plus bent. Hope this is not true he is not an out and out goal getter.

Pav is starting to develop into the target man and holding up the ball. With defoe I think these two could form a great partnership.

I'd take him for Ł10m. Bit late now anyway as we've seen many times before, Keane & Defoe don't work.

I doubt the 'walk-out' rumour btw, unless it was after not being in the 18 & not before.

Hughes can **** right off, Corluka's one of our few good recent buys. I could see Keane coming back I doubt Liverpool have paid in full anyway. I'd try and get Malbranque back as well.

I'm thinking they got the left back position lined up for Corluka - he's been class when played there before!

You do know paper talk and internet rumours aren't necassarily the truth? Y'know, just cause you went off on one last week about it.

No, not at all. It would just start all the old Defoe or Keane problems again, leaving both disgruntled.

Maybe Robbo is worth another look at now whilst we're trying to reassemble Martin Jols team. Maybe BMJ himself could come back if Harry gets the serious hump, and clears off.

Then perhaps we should have another look at Comelli!!!

Or rather Arnseson. Then we can go back to announcing our transfers on Frankie Fridays again.

Maybe we could coax Ginola out of retirement to solve our LW problems?!
