Of course, I dont like to see players showing a lack of respect for fellow players and the ref by trying to get others booked or sent off. I dont think it was a dive but he did get the ball and didnt deserve the foul or yellow card.
The man utd players particularly Fletcher and Rooney were surrounding the ref at least 4 or 5 times demanding he get booked. Its funny that the only other teams that do that are Liverpool and Chelsea. The ref was a bit weak I think and should have started booking them for dissent. I suppose it was in his mind a little later when he sent Scholes off.

Interesting that you bring up the subject of "trying to get players sent off" and fail to mention Huddlestone's OTT reactions that led to Scholes's dismissal.

You could mention players reactions from every game! Not many teams have 4 or 5 players surrounding the ref all the time though.

You have to say that Man Utd played well - the best they've played all season. But fortunately for them they didn't come up against Modric. That is such a loss in my opinion.

Scholes hardly touched Huddlestone and yet he started rolling around holding his face. Scholes then gets a second yellow and sent off.

That sort of reaction and dismissal happens in every game?

I've got to say that I thought Scholes was unlucky with the 2nd yellow card. Didn't deserve that. Scholes is one of the good guys.

One of the good guys?! I suppose you still believe all his tackles are 'mis-timed'. The tackle on Defoe that led to his first yellow was awful, looked like he was trying to 'do' Defoe, the way Keane used to 'do' players.
One of the good guys indeed!

That said Huddleston should be ashamed of himself for that Ronaldo-esque play acting.

We just got beat by the better team unfortunately. When playing United, you need to get them when they're slightly under par - quite the opposite on Saturday.

Think it was a mistake putting Keane on the LW - I know it was his debut but Harry should've had faith in Kranjcar from the start IMO.

(yes, agree that Huddlestone was a bit of a girl there).

It was a very bad tackle on Defoe no doubt. I happen to think that Scholes tackling is reckless and poor rather than malicious like Roy Keane.

I'd agree. Scholes can't tackle. Never seems to be anything malicious there. Maybe if he got booked for it a bit more often, he'd give up trying!

He's already joint 6th (with Butt) on the all time EPL table. Just ahead of Keane & Ince.

If that's the case I'd hate to see the damage he'd cause if he meant it. Personally I do think he means to do it.

Am I the only one who thinks maybe Cudicini could/should have done better on all three united goals. Seemed a tad slow with his reactions imo.

Do you have a link to this table?

Just select All Seasons & Yellow Cards from the drop down boxes. That also gives an interesting all-time EPL points table. Newcastle are 6th (ahead of our 7th) despite playing 48 games less!

Well you cant play against the opposition AND the homer refs. Not sure how much more obvious he wants it before he gives it ?.

Having said that, it all fell apart after King's injury and as for bringing on that useless **** Hutton and keeping the lame Corluka on against the speed merchants of Chelsea, that was only likely to increase the score.

Redknapp subsituting Defoe for Crouch was a bit strange for me, may as well have taken off Jenas and put Keane in his place and kept on Defoe and maybe even brought on Dos Santos just to try and create something.

Very disappointing to see a 3 - 0 scoreline:that definitely didn't seem deserved.

Hopefully Bassong and King will return quickly as we are definitely struggling yet again in the back four.

Wasn't sure whether to laugh or shake my head at the amount of stoppage time, based on King's Drogba's and Bassong's injuries, as well as the amount of substitutions, should have been much longer than 8 minutes, wouldnt have changed where the points were going but it contrasts all too easily against another game played earlier .........
