Unfortunately it's Tate all the flippin' way with Martha only getting in at the last few eps, I think.

Shame about Martha not being in it more - she's the only companion who talks properly.

Rose always sounded like she had a mouthful of golfballs.

I think Martha crops up halfway through the season.

Shame that Clive Swift couldn't have had a few episodes as the assistant. Could have had a nice Holmes/Watson vibe going on.

FWIW I quite enjoyed the episode.

Cribbins was in the trailer.

I missed the episode, but it seems that it's not being repeated anywhere?! Checked TV listings up until next Saturday but it's nowhere.

Yet the Extras special is repeated already on BBC2 tonight, surely Doctor Who as a "flagship" programme for the BBC should merit a repeat on BBC3 somewhere?

I think it's already been repeated, last night or the night before.

I believe it's repeated on BBC 3 on New Years day with Red Button Commentary.

I stopped watching WHO halfway through last season. I decided to give the Xmas a whirl - wish I hadn't. Virtually structureless as usual.

shame though panavision - the second half of the last season was the best bit, the first half was drivel (Gridlock excepted)

Was Moffat involved in any of those 2nd half episodes?

As for structure, and correct me if I'm wrong because I fell asleep, the two fat people knowing how to repair cyborgs is ridiculous! It needs to be set-up that they can do that, or at least allude to it. It's lazy writing.

They were established as working class, so why not working class grease monkeys? If you want to talk about lazy writing, why on earth would a cyborg be carrying about a (detachable!) EMP generator in its innards?!

I agree this was pretty dire stuff in places, the little red guys battle cry of I am a cyborg was just awful!!

Too long and kylie wasn't that great either, and the less said about the doctor being a Christ like figure the better.

This all pales to the fourth series preview, god help it if that's the best it can do... I think hiring Tate will be the shows undoing as every clip of her was terrible... I'm not even sure I can bring myself to watch it.

I think my time with new Who is over, there is simply better stuff to watch.

Only just got round to watching the Christmas special .... not sure why I bothered really. IMO it was pretty bad all round.

Trailer for Series 4 didn't look too bad but good to see the DVDForums tradition of slating Tate before even seeing her in any of the new Who episodes is continuing apace

Finally watched this, muted the music on the intro as I hated the begining of it, totally messed with what I had hoped was going to be a fun episode even though I had reservations about RTD having written it. Sadly it was as bad as I feared and my family have said they refuse to watch any more doctor Who so so much for enjoying this with the family. Next series, well, I will just watch those not written by RTD or only those written by Moffat and if the intro music remains as is the Christmas special may well be the last I watch. A shame because I liked it more with Rose gone and had enjoyed blink in particular.
