What menu colour to go with this website colour scheme?

Just starting building a site, and the colours haven't really come out as well as I planned in photoshop (plus i had to change the banner/foot colours to navy blue).

I definitely need to change the menu colours, but not sure what to....any ideas what 2 colours(dark/light? would go with the blue/gold banner?

clicky

Why not try an online colour schemer - here's a list for you to have an explore.

I really like the blue and gold, would a crimson (e.g. #99000) be too much of a contrast?

You're welcome :-)

You might also check the accessibility tags for tools such as the Colour Contrast Analyser*. You can enter two hex codes as foreground and background and check whether there is sufficient contrast to be able to be read by those with colour blindness and/or low vision problems. It's also good as a colour schemer and for checking hex codes - I can remember hundreds of phone numbers but seem to have a mental block when it comes to colours!

Am i right in thinking that this is too washed out colour-wise?

It's so difficult finding decent colours that match the banner/menu!

hey dude,
been a while

try picking 2 or 3 strong colours and nothing else, see how that works out.

dont go for to many colours - just gets OTT.

btw that CCA is wicked, i use it all the time.

btw ive completed COD and 1/2 way thru suffering - catch up soon.

hi! Has indeed been ages.

Problem is with just picking 3 colours is that each of those 6 networks needs to be colour coded..it's a nightmare trying to pick 6 different colours!

What's CCA?
