Recommend me a Colour Laser printer (maybe a colour inkjet as well)

I wasn't sure what forum to put this in.
Anyway, I'm after one of these if they print photos as well as pics and documents. I know these cost a pretty penny, but the cartridge lasts long time whereas inkjets don't last long and are expensive to replace. So I've been told?

Any recommendations on a Colour laser printer are very welcome.

The Dell have large full carts as new which makes a big difference. I have a HP 2600n which also comes with full carts (although only 2000/2500page ones). As for photo printing though, the inkjets are still superior but to be honest going to a photo lab is probably better anyway and cheaper overall! Then you can use a colour laser for everything else which is good.

Yeah if photo's is what you want, a laser isn't even close to a modern inkjet 'photo' printer. For anything other than pure photo work they are great. Oh and as for recommendations: the epson acculaser 1100 is great. The samsung clp500 sucks. not used anything else. Both are around £200

we have one of the Dells (think it was around £600). Great quality for business docs, but you would not want to print many photo's on it. Would definitely used an inkjet for photo's at the moment.

£200 is less than I thought - I know the carts last a long time, but how much are the replacements?

About 200-250GBP! They tend to be about 40-60GBP/cart I think.

May need a rethink!

Will a photo inkjet print documents as well, and which has the cheapest cartridges to replace?

The laser will actually be quite a bit cheaper to run than an inkjet with OEM cartridges as the laser cart will last way longer - thousands compared to hundreds of pages.
However, if you're going to use compatible inkjet ink at around £1 a cartridge then the inkjet will obviously work out cheapest.
