Exactly. He wants to join Liverpool. But his club wont sell him at a knock down price, as it's then worth them keeping him for however is left on his contract.

All imo of course.

A player cann't say I'll join that club please. Again as shown with Owen. I don't think Newcastle would have been in his list of top 5 clubs to join. But I do think Liverpool would have been his number 1 choice. But Newcastle offered double the money so madrid didn't even think about the Liverpool offer. Hence, not the player's choice.

Cheeseypuffs, totally agree with you comment, but only if the the 2 bids are the same or very close. In the Owen case they weren't.

As I understand it, Owen chose to join Newcastle. Liverpool wanted him to wait (possibly until January) but Owen thought this would hamper his WC place - and make no bones about it that's why he chose the Toon ... not for them but to get a whole season of first team football pre WC.

Owen didn't want to wait so went to the Toon, if he did wait then he would have come to us.

ie it was Owen's choice, not Real's.

Owen was a one off case due to his desire to get into the WC squad at any means possible.

Newcastle have offered Kuyt £90k a week while we've offered him half that - they can offer him treble the wages and £20m to Feyenoord, but it won't make a blind bit of difference if the player himself doesn't want to go there.

was at the lincoln game last night.....speedy and aurelio linked up really well, thought it was gona be a riot after the 2 goals, fowler looked gr8 too, him and speedy cud of bagged loads......very impressed with antwi too, looked fairly solid apart from his cock up to let lincoln score, bit quiet in the stadium mind, didint really sing that much but got the feeling there were more "family's" there from lincolnshire than kopites.

So we actually bought 2 strikers, a right winger and a left back this season, and got a left winger and another central defender from last season.

Well we can't moan that Rafa didn't do what he said he was going to do. We were always told Rafa wanted a striker and a right winger.

If that remotely has any truth to it he needs a new agent

Sounds like a good agent to me, hes done the deal the player wanted most, not the one that would make him the most money or given into pressure from Feyenoord to move for a bigger transfer fee.

Have you got a source for this statement? Because it's quite frankly a load of ********. Even our(NUFC) board isn't that stupid.

Psst, Wanna sell Crouch?

I do trust Rafa's judgement, but why, in modern day terms, is Kuyt so cheap?

About the fomer - Dave Maddock in today's Mirror. About the latter, they sanctioned an £8m deal for Boumsong didn't they?

- Isn't a prolific striker.
