How sweet would it be if say Arsenal, Liverpool, Chelsea and Utd are within say 6 points of eachother at Christmas We want a title race god dammit!

Oh yah, and Sissoko... the new Viera? He kinda reminds me of a typical tough tackling player from the 70's when you used to be able to damn near cripple people as long as you got the ball Lots of potential.

The Guardian reckons that Kuyt has reached an agreement with Feyenoord that means he'll be allowed to leave if Feyenoord and Liverpool can reach an agreement over the fee. They're basing it on reports in Holland.

Roeder is apparently now worried that Kuyt is not pacy enough for the Premiership according to Sky

I suppose that makes up front runners for him now. This has gone on way too long.

I think it's funny that Martins may be 6 years older than he says he is

"I would consider a move to Liverpool, but my first choice is Newcastle," Kuyt is quoted as saying in the Daily Star.

"I know quite a bit about Newcastle, they're one of the best supported teams in the Premier League and a typical English club."
I know it's the Daily Star but ... that's not what other sources are saying. According to other reports; (a) he only wants to play for Liverpool, (b) Newcastle have offered him double what we have and (c) he wants to play in the CL this season.

from what I have seen lately in the papers and on Sky they are quoting him as saying Newcastle would be his first choice but he wants CL so he would consider Liverpool.

Anything that says that is based on a fake article actually written by newcastle fans. All other reliable sources state we are Kuyt's first choice.

Squad for tonight's friendly;

Quote:
David Martin, Jan Kromkamp, Stephen Warnock, Robbie Fowler, Mark Gonzalez, Fabio Aurelio, Neil Mellor, James Smith, Jack Hobbs, Miki Roque, Paul Anderson, Lee Peltier, Danny Guthrie, Adam Hammill, Godwin Antwi, David Roberts, Salif Diao, Besian Idrizaj
I was hoping that Gonzalez and Aurlio would play some part (or even start in Gonzalez's case) on Saturday. Hopefully despite playing two games already this week (including tonight) this will still be the case.

2-1

sounds like a good run out...

Quote:
In the first 45 minutes both Fowler and Gonzalez might have scored hat-tricks. Some of Fowler's passing was Jari Litmanen esque at times and Gonzalez caught the eye with some brilliant dribbling. Brazilian Aurelio has the type of left foot you could open a can of beans with, and some of his passing in the first half was right out of the top drawer and rightly earned the applause of the healthy near 10,000 crowd.

Problem with Kuyt is will he get chance to join Liverpool. I mean if Newcastle are in the hunt as well, then as seen with Owen they have more money then sense. Liverpool haven't got that much money to get into a bidding war. Kuyt may have a say in where he goes but ultimately it's not his choice.

If Liverpool offer £10m and Newcastle £15m, then we wont be going to Liverpool.

We thought the same thing with Luque last season. His goals for Deportivo were great and just look what he has done for us.

As for Kuyt. If you guys do get him then well done. We need a striker but I'm not sure Kuyt will fit in well, we haven't had the greatest of luck with foreign strikers up here at the toon.

Sorry to hijack your thread.

I think you're wrong there, in this day and age when two or more clubs are interested in a player he most definitely has the final say. If he doesn't want to sign for a particular club then he won't, and if Feyenord won't let him go to a lower bidder he will just let his contract run down until they either sell him for a nominal fee or his contract ends. Since the Bosman ruling sought after players are most definitely in the driving seat unless they happen to be at a club who can afford to risk losing them for nothing.

Caught the Kuyt interview on SSN .... I can't see him playing for anyone else now but us judging by his reactions.
