Permanently it looks like

Like Quincy & Lennon, the kid's got skills but his last ball is always found wanting somewhat. Would've been a great fairytale busting his way into the first team after being spotted playing in the park....

In my eyes, Hleb's already infront of Freddie. I'm gutted that it took so long for Hleb to get over his injury cos, if you were bored enough to read my posts waxing lyrical about him last year, me was expecting BIG things from him. This season perhaps

Ribery just reminds me so much of Ljungberg, everything about him....

And Gilberto is one of the successful passers we've got, I won't belittle his completition rate cos he does a very important job there keeping the ball. Plus it's what Song gets bashed for

more like £6.7 million plus extras - we could be looking at a £3 million profit on him overall if all goes well

I know, who in their right mind would call Cygan a "senior" defender.

From the beeb.

----

Arsenal have admitted to holding talks with Chelsea about the sale of Gunners defender Ashley Cole.

The 25-year-old, who is under contract until 2008, has been linked with a move to Stamford Bridge for over a year.

And Arsenal vice-chairman David Dein said: "As we speak now he is an Arsenal player and until you hear otherwise he is an Arsenal player.

"We have had a couple of very civil conversations with Chelsea and there is nothing else to say on that."

Arsenal boss Arsene Wenger has already admitted he is unsure whether Cole will still be a Gunner when the season starts.

Dein added: "He's our player. He started with us when he was 16 and if something else happens we will wait and see.

"If something happened and we decided to take an offer that's another story but at the moment he is under contract to us."

-----
looks like the wheels are being set in motion, hopefully a new left back/centre back will be signed in time for the first leg of CL game.

Could of been worse I spose, didn't fancy them playing in Turkey. Should be fairly straightforward if they can hold their bottle out there and are sharp enough.

Toge - 4tw?

Hopefully Wenger's gonna get another CB, Cygan's okay but I don't fancy Toure, Cygan & Djourou for the first couple of months. A knock on one or two of them and we're in trouble already! Wenger's been linked with a couple of younger CB's the past week or so....

Who's gonna play LB as well until Clichy's back (September-ish!) - Hoyte I spose.

Sad news today .

We seem to be losing a lot of playes with nothing coming in other than Rosicky. Since the end of last season when our squad was already not strong enough we have lost:

Sol Campbell
Robert Pires
Dennis Bergkamp
Kerrea Gilbert
Francis Muamba
Sebastian Larrson
Ryan Smith
Ashley Cole (almost certainly)

And we have an injury list of:

Phillipe Senderos
Gael Clichy
Lauren
Freddie Ljunberg

We definitely need to bring some players in.

I couldnt have said it better myself, we need players and quick. We have lost quite a few players and if the boss thinks we have the squad to compete next season then hes wrong, i hope he isnt blinkered by our Champions League progress last season.

BUT its only the 28th of July so plently of time left yet.

On a side note, Curtis Davies has signed a new deal to stay at West Brom, so we can count out signing him.

Your point is perhaps right, but you're exagerating things too much (other than the injury list).

Some players have only left on loan, and you've totaly forgotten about signings such as Vincent van den Berg and Joe O'Cearuill. I expect they're just as able as some of the names on your list of players' who've left.

As for the list of injuries, you've missed one of the most important - i.e. Diaby - I'm pretty damn sure he hasn't recovered yet given how his foot was hanging off his leg at Sunderland.

slightly off topic here.

Can anyone tell me the salary of Mr Wenger.
(either salary for the surrent season or as per his current contract duration).

Need the answer for a competiton i've entered.
I've had a look on the wonderweb and have drawn blanks so far.

cheers

JC

Don't forget the CL starts in a few days so we need to register players for that soon.

you only need to register players for the qualifying match now

(assuming you get through) the deadline for the 'real' CL is several weeks away
