The Tottenham Hotspur Thread - 06/07

Well as the old one is closed, here is our new one. Well done lads on a win against the lique 1 runner ups last night. BMJ seems pleased with the run out and Jermaine was on the scoresheet so pleased about that. Saw we played with a 3 at the back in the second half which is good to see us using different tactics. England should take note!

Dean Marney has left to join Hull. Bit gutted about this as he had come through the ranks and I thought the Everton game showed he had what it takes at this level.
We do have too many midfielders though but I like the fact we bring our youngsters through and its a shame when they are sold. Same with Kelly.

Unfortunatly that Everton performance seems to have been a flash in the pan

We're beating nice 1-0 at half-time with a second string team. Barnard scored it

Good news today, L'arse could only draw 0-0 in their friendly with Barnet.

Also Newcastle only drew in the intertoto and Villereal lost. Both teams are ranked higher than us and if either are knocked out we have a better chance of being seeded

Spurs To Gain Champions League Place

Tottenham Hotspur have made an audacious attempt to gain a Champions League place after Juventus, Fiorentina & Lazio were all relegated.

After being charged with match fixing, four Italian clubs have been ousted from European football as part of their punishment & it is now being understood that Tottenham Hotspur have applied to change countries in a last ditch attempt to gain entry to the Champions League.

Martin Jol said,

'We finished widsh more pointsh than Italian schide, Chievo, scho we descherve a placsh in der Championsch League'

'Even though we had ours food poischioned by Asrchnal fansch lascht season, we schtill only juscht mischt out on a placsh.'

'We will now apply to become a Scherie-A schide and with the pointsh we won last season, we would have finished with enough pointsh to claim fifth placsh, and widsh thosch four teamsch misching out on European footschball, we will be in der Championsch League'

Tottenham fans have spoken out against the move, seemingly not wanting to move from North London, but instead seek to have the entire Italian league moved to England. However they insist that all teams must remain outside North London because no other teams are allowed to hail from that area.

Daniel Levy is writing his appeal letter as we speak.

Considering this is his first post in both this or the last closed spurs thread i would go with friendly banter.

Its just a bit of laugh just like camaj's "l'arse" above or like taxman coming and posting funnines in the arse thread .

Hehehe, there's nout wrong with a bit of friendly banter and the posting of the odd funny........although, it would have been better appreciated if it had actually been funny!

Removed - posting an image with a swear word in is the same as if you had posted the word yourself.

I notice rumours are rife that Damien Duff will be signed tomorrow - top banana if true!

Would give us a quality midfield of:

Duff - Carrick - Zakora - Lennon

Now that can't be bad, especially with Davids and Jenas as backup!

I thought Duff signed a contract extension with Chelsea just a couple of weeks ago.

No it was reported on a few Spurs sites (because of our supposed long-standing interest) that he was to follow Cole by signing an extension, seemingly that didn't come to pass. Anyhoo i have a feeling that should we infact sign Duff, it will probably only be a precursor to Carrick departing for Manchester United. If all these ITKs happen to be right that is.

mmm, itk time again. Just popped onto here to see if anyone else had picked up on the Duff rumour. Feeling that we are clutching at straws again, spose it would kinda make sense, but just cant see him joining us yet. Oh well, apparently wait till 2mo for the official anouncement, although expect to see Duff signs for any club but spurs before he joins us imo.
