I don't think that we will have a firm starting 11. As we have seen the squad is very fluid and even more so now. It is really quite an exciting prospect this season.

Well I think we'll see Fowler a lot more than everybody else does...

Rafa bought Morientes to be that clever striker, finally admitted defeat and brought in the superior Fowler.

He may not have legs for 90 mins, but as an impact player to break open stubborn resistance he could be the ace in the pack.

The leaps and bounds Rafa has made in 2 seasons has been frightening. To think we had our 2nd best league season ever last season, shows the genius within.

Shows you how tough the Premier League is when that sort of season gets you 3rd place!

Awesome display last season.

I think we'll see major rotation with rafa picking his team, specifically the attacking players depending on the opposition. We also know he is not afraid to make a change as and when needed rather than waiting.

Fowler will get goals and assists a plenty I reckon. bellamy is likely to be our main striker - Rafa clearly likes pace when coupled with control, skill and accuracy(cf Ged who liked pace and power but didn't go for skill. Sure it worked well for a while but 2002 when we just had too much power/pace and nothing else it went downhill)

Strongest starting 11 is:

-------------Bellamy-----Crouch--------------

Gonzalez----Sissoko---Alonso-----Gerrard

Aurelio----Carra------1 of the other 3 --Finnan

-----------------Pepe----------------------------

Rafa will probably switch it to 5 in the middle on occasion, with Pennant coming in for Bellamy and playing on the right and Gerrard playing off the forward. Dont think Kewell will be out of the picture either, probably still get plenty of starts. 4-3-3 is also a possibility with a front line of Kewell/Gonz - Crouch - Bellamy/Pennant. Sissoko, Gerrard and Alonso are gonna be playing most of the games so his formations will be designed to accomodate them.

A 4-5-1 isn't out of the question either ....

Also, what you say about Kewell could also easily apply to Riise.

-------------.

Yeah, said he would switch to that too.

Hopefully Riise gets a fair share of games too, goes to show we are now in a situation where keeping everyone happy could be tricky, there's also Fowler, Zenden, Garcia, Warnock, FSP and we have a lot of centre-backs - no matter what 16 we pick we are leaving big names out, but this is the situation we need if we want to be challenging for the top.

I think we'll see lots of formations this season

4-4-2
4-5-1
4-3-3
4-4-1-1
3-4-2-1
3-4-1-2
3-5-2

All of those I think will be employed at times this season I reckon and maybe more 'exotic' formations as well! God, can't wait for this season to kick off!

Thats the formation that Chelsea have played against us so successfully these last couple of years when they have won. By playing the referee in a free midfield role they ensured they got quite a few results against us. I hear they are gonna try 553 this season and incorporate the 2 linesmen as well

Lovely jubbly .... ordered my Community Shield ticket last night.

The only £15 tickets available would have been far too close to the Chelsea fans for my liking - so instead went for a £30 ticket for the same area I was in for the Cup Final, but higher up.

We're playing Macabi Haifa in the 3rd round qualifying of the champions league, I assume on a neutral ground in Cyprus maybe?

About the toughest draw we could've expected. Hopefully will be a neutral ground for the away leg though

I think Fenerbache would have been a tougher tie, this isn't easy though.
