Again all press speculation.

Why would BCFC lie about not receiving a £6.2M bid (which is more than they want for him) ?? So, if Birmingham have not accepted the bid .... Pennant can not possibly be having a medical.

It's on the BBC now that he is having a medical and a fee has been agreed.

I think that unless there is a problem with the Medical he will be a Liverpool player by the end of the day.

Sky are now saying we have signed Lazaros Christodoulopoulos on a three year deal.

£130K is not bad. Hopefully him and Pennant are not the two signings Rafa was on about.

The Greek lad's supposed to be quite good isn't he? Assuming the Christo deal is going to go through, I can't see Rafa getting another striker now unless he is going to sell one of Crouch, Bellamy, Christo or God (not going to happen this season)! We are already well stocked with strikers, particularly with Pongo still in the picture and given his fondness for using Kewell or Garcia as the second forward.

Our scouts rated him very highly and for £120,000 he was worth a punt. I'm not sure he'll be a first team member straight away though , I expect him to play for the reserves for a while.

A guy I work with is from Cyprus (Greek) and he keeps up with the leagues over there and he rates this guy.

As others have the said, the Greek guy will not walk straight into the first team from what I have read ... he is definately a buy for the future.

So, hopefully, the hunt for a striker is still on.

"Lazaros"

How small do you think the new shirts are?

One for the future who's already got experience in the top Greek division and the UEFA Cup Also, since he's only signing a 3 year contract, it'd better be the pretty near future, or we'll have forked out a few hundred grand (including wages) for a reserve striker

I think Penant will do really very well* for you if he keeps his off-the-field antics in check.*

*Bellamy too.

LOL I was hoping the greek guy was extra and the 2nd player would be someone who would actually improve our first 11.

Do you know that the Greek lad won't improve our first 11?

Also, Djimi to Charlton Do you think we can get a clause put in whereby they have to take Diao as well

The greek kid is clearly one for the future, we need a top-class striker for the now. We need to be a lot more ambitious if we are ever going to compete for the top.
