Papa Roach gigs headsup - worth a look ?

I remember liking the singles on MTV2 a couple of years back, but haven't heard any albums.

Are they worth a look for £20 ? (And the venues look nice and small ).

PAPA ROACH Club Academy Manchester SUN 01/10/2006 19:00 buy tickets
PAPA ROACH Mean Fiddler London MON 02/10/2006 19:00 buy tickets

I'm not a fan of their music but I believe their moment has passed.
Saying that, the London venues are small so if your were a fan it would be good to see them there.

They are pretty good live but the singer is an utter cretin and is likely to irritate you. A lot.

Agree with you about the singer. He was an arrogant tosser who thought his band were a hell of a lot better than they actually were.

Yeah I don't mind them either, I really liked their last album Getting Away With Murder. I saw them live at Download in 2005 and enjoyed it immensly. They actually got bad reviews for that gig from lots of places but check out the vid for GAWM from sites like Youtube and you'll see that many others were enjoying it as well.

I don't think they've bettered their debut album but each subsequent album has had some good tracks on, their fourth is out very soon which i was surprised to see as i didn't think Getting Away With Murder sold very well.

As I said they are good live but when I saw them the singer was so pathetic by the end of the gig he had lost the crowd completely. If he's sorted out his on stage behaviour then I think you'll have a good time. IIRC they did a rather good cover of "The Gentle Art of Making Enemies" by FNM.

been listening to some of their stuff.

The pre-INFEST releases are absolutely awful, but I'm starting to enjoy the last 3 albums now, after just a couple of listens.

I've heard a couple of live shows too, and I see what you mean about the singer - all his swearing & posturing is a bit tired and naff ("a-one-two, a-one-two-eff-you", "lets rock this mother-luvvin' bitch up" ) but at least I'm going prepared !

Any advance reviews of 18th-Sept's The Paramour Sessions ?

Saw them a few years back and they were superb. Coby Dick (Singer) really knows how to get the crowd going. Definetly recommend you going.

Just to give this a bump - saw them tonight, reviewing them for a website... Great live show, massive, massive energy, and a great gig to shoot as a photographer.

First processed shots from the evening...
