[Cricket] Pakistan vs England ODI Series

After smacking the butt of the "new best team in the world" Pakistan approach the ODI series with a morale-boosting victory by the A-team today.

No Vaughan or Gilo for England, and No Afridi for the first 2 games.
Plenty of firepower remains though:

Let the fireworks begin...

And John you are welcome to this thread ANYtime you want

As I said in the other thread I can't see England winning one game let alone the series, Pakistan have the momentum going into the opening match and even without Afridi I fear they will be to strong for us

I do hope I am wrong though as we need to get something out of this series if only to boost morale a bit which must have taken a dip after the poor test series.

I forgot to dish out the cyber-ladoo after the test win.. so here they are now

Anyway, thing is with ODI's they can go either way... its amazing how many games hang on to the last minute, and i personally think England have the little edge over pakistan as they can keep their cool during nail biting moments unlike pakistan who quickly wanna run back to the pavillion!!

Either way expect a great tournament..

News is that Prior will be England super sub. Vaughns one day form hasn't been brilliant recently, so lets hope his injury turns out to be a blessing in disguise for England.

Interesting move if we bat first, he could even open the innings with Trescothick.

England 327/4 (50.0 ov)
Pakistan

Bloody good score that is.. however being a batting pitch, just hope pakistan can reply in a similar manner.. with no afrdi, it might be difficult!!

ouch - bottom been well and truly spanked. highest ever score on that ground.

quick side point about the super-sub; it is a lottery and only 1 side tends to be able to use him depending on if they have a batting/bowling SS and if they decide to bat/bowl first.

maybe better to name 12 players of which 1 can be changed at any time?

Brilliant innings by England. Pakistan seems to up up for the chase though.

This super sub business seems to be more hassle than its worth. Would be better to be able to decide after the toss.

I have to be happy with that score, lets just hope that Pakistan don't due what New Zealand have done today in chasing 332 to beat Australia.

Best cricket nowadays is either a match where a crappy score like 130ish is being chased down or a huge one like 350ish!!

in all honesty i think pakistan can do it!!

I thought New Zealand were unlucky in the 2nd one day match. Now that was a close game.

Pakistan are keeping up to the required run rate - and Stauss gifts them a five from an overthrow

Cracking game !!!!! Love to watch these high scoring one dayers. I hate 20/20 but the longer version is great when the runs flow.
