As a sucker for anything in a tin (Heinz Cream of Tomato soup...) I'm completely frazzled trying to work out whether to get the LE tin or the four disk set... can anyone confirm that the latter has the three sets in individual Amarays, because one solution would be to get both, then flog the standard KK 2-disk (and maybe the box), thus getting the other two films for a low, low price

Shuffles off in Scrooge mode looking for other ways to clean up... having just flogged an R2 Jungle Book for £51...

I've just checked my order at DVDImport and my Tin shipped 3 days ago. The Collection is still pending though.

Courtesy of PlayUSA, just greeted the Royal Party from Skull Island (red carpet, lots of banana-themed canapes, etc.)
Saving the films for tonight, but I couldn't resist a peek at the "Spider-pit" sequence - I must admit, as much as I've been dying to see this, I wasn't expecting anything approaching a "seamless" recreation, but I was wrong (as usual). It's fantastically well-done. I swear, if it was in the film, and I was watching for the first time, I wouldn't know where the new footage started and ended. Great job Mr Jackson!
Now onto the docs this afternoon, methinks.

May be using my Mirror voucher to buy either the tin or the box set. Are the Son of Kong & Mighty Joe Young worth watching?

That's not for PlayUSA though is it?

'Son of' is okay, Mighty Joe Young is brilliant; more family oriented than 'Kong', but just, well, brilliant...

Compare the screenshots from DVD Beaver (R1) and Zetaminor (R2) linked on the previous page; the R2 is of poorer quality, has far fewer extras, features poorer films in the box and is more expensive. Do you need any more reasons?

Same here.

I was looking forward to a Saturday evening of monkey business, too.

Got the tin today, apart from a dent and the fact that all the postcards etc are jammed in to the inner slipcase - eveything is ok. Why PLAY have sent a metal tin out in a sodding Jiffy bag is beyond me?

Id be interested in taking the regular 2 disc SE of KK off your hands.

Herb Kane's HTF review is up in this thread; look out for post #25 in which Steve Christou posts some R1/R2 comparison screenshots.

How big is the tin? The promotional pictures make it look about twice the size of a regular Amaray case.

Have a size comparison! (although apologies for the quality of the photography.)
