Thanks. I saw Rider on the Rain for the first time as a teenager and could not appreciate the finer points at the time. I liked the film much better when I saw it years later as an adult. Bronson shows that he can be subtle when necessary. I am going to get this DVD.

Yes Optimum are releasing Rider On The Rain in UK on 21 Sept. Its going to have both the English AND French soundtracks. I've never seen it but its meant to be a cracking film, one of Bronson's very best. And by the same director as Forbidden Games, no less!! I'm really looking forward to this one.

There is more than a little Columboesque cat-and-mouse game between cop Bronson and the female lead in Rider on the Rain. I think it shares the top spot for Bronson's best film with Hard Times.

Oh wow, didn't even know this was out.
I was tempted to get the French version last year and do an English dub myself (as in synch the VHS, not doing all the voices myself!), but that was too much effort.

Amazing that they have provided both versions

Rider On The Rain

Here are two more reviews of the superb Optimum DVD of this great film.

Guardian/Observer http://www.guardian.co.uk/film/2009/...harles-bronson

Electric Sheep Magazine http://www.electricsheepmagazine.co....-on-the -rain/

Rider On The Rain is an outstanding film and definitely deserves to be much more widely known. Hopefully this wonderful new DVD from Optimum will go a long way towards making that happen.

PS: Since we're discussing the best DVD releases of CB's films in this thread, should it be moved to the DVD and Blu-ray Discussion????

Been catching up and upgrading my Bronson DVD collection recently.

Nice to see a decent versions of Rider on the Rain, Telefon and The Stone Killer turn up eventually. The White Buffalo got released in Australia and From Noon Till Three turned up in Germany. Raid on Entebbe got a decent transfer on a UK DVD.

Apart from some of the TV movies and a bunch of 60s movies, the only one left I really want is a decent version of You Can't Win 'Em All. The Spanish DVD though 2.35:1, is a terrible laserdisc rip.
