If you look at the economics of football, we won't win another trophy as most teams in the Premiership won't. The big 4 have it sewn up. If a club has promising talent they sell mainly to one of the big 4 ie SWP, Rooney (Now probally Richards). Thus widening the gap of the top 4.

So if we have any players that shine tonight, they will graduate to the 1st team, then if they shine, they get sold on. The economics of modern day football.

The higher up the league the top 4 finish, the more money they get, the more success it buys them, the more fans seem to gravitate to the top clubs, instead of their local one, the wider the gap seems to get.

Was gonna go to Old Trafford tonight, but am looking forward to this season ending

Nice Guy, but not up to the job. He's brought in some very average players, our best players are still KK signings and youth team graduates.

We've only spent big money (for us) once under SP. That was Samaras he looked raw, but full of potential, but now his confidence looks shot. Time for SP to go. There is talk of a take-over coming in, couldn't trust the man with millions, so Thanks SP, but I'd like someone else to comee in and lift the place. We've not scored ast home since Jan 1st, we don't let many in, but we don't score at all.

Wonder if we'll get an apology from Roy Keane for his assault on Haaland. He went out to hurt Haaland badly and did just this.

Balls stamp was no worse than Rooneys in the WC. He's got a three match ban. No worse than Cantonas stamp on John Moncur, no worse than than Keanes stamp on Gareth Southgate. End of.
Well that makes it okay then.

As a lifelong city fan, I'm sad to see Stuart go, but whether it was him or the team, all passion was lost at the club. It was exactly the same when KK left. I watched the derby and was upset with what I saw...no tenacity...no flair...no passion.

Granted he may not have had the money of other clubs, but no player of decent repute would join us anyway. We got 2 players who were virtual outcasts at their clubs. We've had Sylvain not committing to the club and Joey just being an ****.

I hope we don't go for Paul Jewell. If this takeover does go ahead and we get the £40M transfer kitty, I don't see him as the manager to take us forward. We need a manager who has had big club experience, big spending experience and with technical nouse. Who that manager is, I just don't know, but I don't think it's Allardyce or Jewell. Maybe I'm being harsh on them, but next season we have to be a strong top half of the table team.

City scored just 10 goals at home all season, the worst record in the history of top-flight football.
Speaks volumes. Nice guy, lots of passion, very little else.

Cheers Mr Pearce, nice guy, but the football this season was awful. Things seem to go wrong a while ago. Agree that no passion at the end.

His signings have not been better than what we already have. The Youth system has saved the club in the last couple of seasons

I read an interview with Pearce once when he was manager of Nottingham Forest. He was looking over his first XI when his wife kindly pointed out that he'd neglected to include a goalkeeper

But that was typical of Pearce to tell that story in the first place. He does come across as a genuinely decent guy, but astonishingly, he looks to have lost the dressing room this season, and he ran out of ideas months ago. I think he'd do a decent number two job somewhere, but right now, to be honest, I think this has left him more than a little battered and bruised.

Well Distin has left us with a swipe at our ambitions, fair enough realy.. Wished he'd waited til the take-over had run it's course. He's a decent player, but, not as good as he thinks he is!!

Well if this take over talk collapses we are in BIG trouble. We have let 9 players go, sacked the manager, sacked his back room staff, sacked the scouting network and even the medical staff. Only Manchester City could get rid of all that with no back up plan. Rumour has it many of the board want out, Bartons future is not decided, we scored the lowest number of goals at home ever for a top flight home.

On the plus side the young lady below is a major shareholder at Manchester City, I know I would

Not sure she even supports Manchester City!!!

Her father was a major share holder in Manchester City and died a few years back leaving her and her brothers and sisters his inheritance Only found out because of all this takeover farce!!!

Didn't bother watching the game tonight, went to the gym instead.

Well Ray Ranson has pulled out of any take-over bid:-

http://news.bbc.co.uk/sport1/hi/foot...ty/6705819.stm

Hopefully this means that a big bucks Thai investment is already on the cards. According to this article in the Mirror, Claudio Ranieri has already accepted the job:-

http://www.mirror.co.uk/sport/footba...name_page.html

Any Chelsea fans have an opinion on Claudio Ranieri?
