The all new Tottenham Hotspur Thread 04/05

Don't know why d.boyd had the other one closed, editing the first post would have been easier.

While I'm here, when does everyone think Santini will arrive, he could come this week.

As I say every year, this season, I think we've got some good prospects.

hehe, but they also said he'd be there if France didn't get to the semi's which would have been on wednesday. Nothing to stop him coming earlier, even if it's just a press conference

Ooh, a nice new thread!

Yep, I would've thought he'll be here by Thursday - possibly earlier.

So, who's joining before the start of the season?!

Oh yes indeedy! :

I'm looking forward to ol' Helder getting a much bigger role this coming season. I really hope he forms an important part of Santini's plans. Dunno about a front *two* but hope he stays put.

Good times are on their way...

...hopefully

Really really looking forward to this season. I'll be there for the opening game, cheering on Jacques Blue & White Army.

I don't think you can edit thread titles once they're as old as that one was.

Seems nice to start a fresh one anyway - a new beginning at the club so why not?!

i read an interesting article in the daily mail about only if spurs had waited until after euro 2004 to pick up a manager, their are some good managers available now like trappatoni, the greek manager, rudi voeller, do you guys think santini is good, or do you wish you had waited?

I wouldn't wipe me backside on that rag, especially after their last anti spurs rant about "why oh why did Santini go there".....they're so anti spurs it's an embarassment.

Anyway, back to the point, prior to us appointing him if you'd asked me(or anyone else for that matter) who I thought the best manager around was, and who I'd most like then the answer would have been Santini.....and I don't see why EURO'04 should change that sentiment. The gooner rag just want to try their best to wee on our fire and to be honest their just making their sports coverage into a laughing stock. I don't think there is one pundit that wasn't shocked that a manager of his reputation would choose us.

.....however, what I'd also add is that I actually think that Frank Arneson is a bigger and vastly more important signing.

Yup, indeedy.

Tbh, I'm more than happy with Santini (not forgetting Martin Jol - assistant manager) and am looking forward to the new season.

Tbh, aside from Otto Reighal (sp?) the Greek manager, none of those have hardly set the Euro's alight. Sure, I'm sure they're good managers, but Voeller and Trap both took their teams out in the group stages.

edit - I may be being pedantic Camaj, but could you correct the Hotspur spelling in the thread title? Extremely pedantic I know, sorry!

Molby backing for Arnesen

"Make no mistake, if Frank rings AC Milan or any other big club, they take his call right away and that has got to be a massive thing for Spurs. They have got a real class act."

Why's mine wrong?

You can edit a post at anytime. Although the thread in question was only started late last night

We could have got someone else after Euro2004 but frankly I wouldn't want any of the ones available and the Greek bloke is probably going to stay in charge. It wouldn't have made a difference because we got the man we wanted. The only manager I'd want is Marhino or O'neil if it wasn't Santini

I'm sure it said 'Hotspurs' last night - now it doesn't!

No bother - let us all look forward to the coming weeks. It's very exciting!

Theres no press conference planned for this week so it must be next week Santini and Arsenen are revealed to the media.

I dont know how much truth is involved but rumours are saying Joe Cole and Geremi possibly on their way to the lane... Geremi rated at 50:50 and Joe Cole said to be revealed soon

Yup - I've seem some right corkers on some of the fan sites recently. Some simply must be 'jokes' but others are just a step to far.

In a way, I really don't care about rumours - you KNOW we always just suddenly announce a new signing. No speculation, no nothing. I'll just be happy to wait and see what happens between now and the Liddypool match.

I'm not sure Postiga will be around for much longer. May not be happy playing in the reserves.

We shall see how he does tonight...if he gets off the bench!
