Anyone who’s a fan of Toast, which for me is one of the best comedies in decades will be pleased to know there is a new series coming, Toast Of Hollywood and strangely it’s moved to BBC 1.

Good news, if you search YouTube for “toast of london audio” you’ll find 5 audio webisodes that were posted last year.

The first episode of Silence of the Lambs spin-off Clarice was solid enough. Nothing groundbreaking, but the leading lady was pretty good, Michael Cudlitz pops up in a supporting role & it looks like they've tried their best to ape the look of the movie. Setting it in 1993 was a nice touch too.

I thought Clarice was poor - trying really hard to be like Bryan Fuller's Hannibal but not in the same league. I'll give it another chance to see of the writing improves but it's Alex Kurtzman so I don't hold out too much hope.

Second episode of Clarice was a vast improvement over the first - one to stick with.

Thats good to know, not watched it yet but was hoping it was going to be better than the first impressions. The missus is a big fan of the movies.

I’m enjoying Big Sky on Disney Plus. Set in Montana, it’s about detectives trying to find some missing girls and expose the underbelly of the wilderness state.
Starts out very vanilla, run of the mill plot, then subverts things and throws curve balls that knock down the tropes it’s set up.
It’s fairly lightweight for this kind of subject so far, but enjoyable and I’ll be interested to see where it goes.

The pilot of Superman & Lois was much better than I thought it'd be. Making the pair of them a more mature couple with teen kids was a fresh approach, & the look of it felt quite nostalgic of previous movie iterations (both Donner & Snyder). Shooting it in 2.35:1 widescreen was a nice touch too.
Not at all what I was expecting, but a surprisingly good start. As a Superman fan, I'm looking forward to seeing where it'll go.

I wasn't that fussed about a new series but I agree It was very watchable.
I'm hoping it doesn't become another CW soap opera and keeps to the standards of the pilot.

The first episode of Debris was quite dull. A couple of decent moments, but the leads are bland & charmless & the 'evil child' trope irritated me as much as it usually does.

Paramount must love Taylor Sheridan, he’s had 3 new series green lit.
Y:1883 - which is a historical account of his Yellowstone series and the interaction of First Nations Americans and the Dutton family in Yellowstone.
Land Man - About the oil boom and bust of west Texas.
The Mayor of Kingstown - Teaming up with Jeremy Renner again, a disintegrated city is using imprisonment of its citizens for financial gain produced by Antoine Fuqua (Training Day).

Just in case anyone doesn’t know, writer of Sicario, writer/director Wind River, writer of Hell or High Water, and current writer/director/producer of Yellowstone.
IMO one of the best screen writers around atm.

One of my fave current screenwriters is writer/director Andrew Niccol who came on the scene with Gattaca, then wrote The Truman Show, S1m0ne, The Terminal, Lord of War and more recently Good Kill. That's a good list of films in my book. He's attached to Monopoly at the mo alas, as that's not a name that inspires confidence, however if he writes it I'm sure he'll do something interesting.

Sheridan also wrote Hell or Highwater, which IMO is the best film he's been linked to creatively, and he played the Sheriff in the first few seasons of Sons of Anarchy.

Superman & Lois: very impressed with the first episode. Was expecting the absolute worst but pleasantly surprised.
Debris: okay first episode, did enough to get me interested to tune in next week.
Young Rock: really enjoying this so far but seems to be light on laughs. Has potential for some interesting story lines.
