Ava 2020 Jessica Chastain
https://m.imdb.com/video/vi250116456...stId=tt8784956
Done you all a favour, don't watch this movie. All the clichés are here betrayed assassin, taken out by her boss, guys hold back in fights all been done better before. Ms Chastain looks about as tough as a wet blanket.
Why are the people she is killing on the list who knows?the writers don't care
Watch Haywire or Point of No Return

I didn't think it was that bad. It's watchable enough & Malkovich & Farrell look like they're having fun chewing the scenery, but yes, it is incredibly derivative of every other female assassin movie in cinema history & Chastain doesn't have the fighting chops some of her predecessors had.
I was amazed Luc Besson's name wasn't anywhere in the credits.

Malkovich was the only one doing some acting, I thought Farrell was texting in his performance and chastain looked bored
This movie had nothing to offer.
No reason for the killings
Confessing all to a loan shark then letting her live
The romance with Common and the sister's acting
No real plot
They mentioned her having a breakdown, that would have been a better story.

That's because Jessica is a grown-up woman.

She was a contract killer. I didn't really need any more info than that.

Watched this last night. Was ok but felt more like a pilot to a TV series.

It was fine fir a Netflix movie. I surfed my phone whilst it played in the background.
The sister /ex boyfriend thing was the worse part I thought.

Watched it today and it was instantly forgettable
The setup like John wick ending was extremely hopeful as I don’t think I’d be in a hurry for a sequel
The whole “let me cut your hair like your sister” made me think there would be an accidental killing / revenge thing going on
The whole thing seems to me a mash of ideas never knowing which story strand it wanted to stick to

Very derivative of the slew of female assassin movies - I actually liked all three main characters and thought their arcs were fairly satisfying, but there's nothing new here at all.
Made me long for The Long Kiss Goodnight, which I can't find streaming anywhere. You can't even buy it on Prime or Play.

I watched it because of Chastain, and I quite like the fact she didn't look as though she worked out 20 hours a day. A tale done to death, though, and nothing memorable.

They so obviously had Geena in this for that reason. And this would of been a much better movie had it been the belated sequel
Long kiss is an amazing film.

I really like Jessica Chastain, so gave this a watch. It was bad.
Like a glutton for punishment, the next night I watched Peppermint with Jennifer Garner. To be fair, the action scenes had a lot more gusto than Ava.
