USB wall sockets with fast charging

I was looking at fitting a double plug socket with a couple of USB ports (which seemed easy enough) but I hit the issue of fast charging.

Obviously I'd like to able to fast charge devices by plugging them directly into the USB sockets (else what's the point) but it seems like there are a whole bunch of different standards and power levels (plus the whole USB-A and USB-C complication).

Ideally I'd like something that would be compatible with all models of phone (including iPhone) for future proofing, but does such a thing even exist? Seems like maybe just getting sockets with a decent power level would allow faster charging for any devices, I just wouldn't get the absolute fastest levels that are achievable with a dedicated manufacturer specific charger, is that correct? Or would a non-specific socket just charge at standard speed?

Anybody got these sort of sockets?

Some phones / tablets may detect if they are connected to their own chargers for absolute fastest charge, but a higher power 3rd party device will charge faster than the normal USB rate.

My OnePlus 6T will take hours to charge if connected to a PC USB, but well under an hour on a high power charger. I've got an Anker 5 port charger we bought for when we last went to Florida so we didn't need loads of US converter plugs for multiple chargers.

So a wall socket with decent power output will charge at a fast rate.

We did this in the kitchen but just went for the basic 5w USB-A ones which were cheap and cheerful. They get used for the family iPads, occasionally my wife’s phone etc, but I made a conscious decision not to go down the (expensive) rabbit hole of everything else you’ve mentioned there.

Wireless charging is become more prevalent and we have a couple of those on desks, by the bed, cables in the car etc.

I guess if you could find USB-C ones, that would probably future proof things a bit, but I suspect you’ll be able to get usb-a versions of cables for the foreseeable future.

Interestingly my new car is USB-C mostly.

I noticed that on the new Defender as well, always a sign that these things are getting more mainstream.
