The Official Tottenham Hotspur Thread

Ooooh this could be fun.

Are Spurs still owned by Levi and ENIC? If so where is all the money coming from for these transfers and proposed new Stadium?

We could sell Man City a couple of players. That'll make a fortune.

seems most teams are waiting for Citys moves before they know what the market will be like.

Valencia reported to be interested in taking Cesar back to Spain - might as well if Redknapp doesn't ever want to play him!

Presumably he will play in the CC semi as Gomes is being "rested".

Wilson Palacios has undergone a medical ahead of his proposed £14m transfer from Wigan to Tottenham.

Hope this guy lives up to his reputation. As we have been spending big and getting no key results.

It's a lot of money but exactly the type of player we need so fingers crossed it works out. Might mean the end of Zokora in the first team (he's done well this season IMO) so I guess it'll be Palacios/Modric as the middle two with whoever (Bentley, Lennon, O'Hara, Giovani, etc) on the wings.

No Corluka, King or Gomes tomorrow. Hope we don't make it too hard on ourselves!

I would like to see this team out tomorrow, if he is going to give everyone in the squad and opportunity then this is the best match for it

----------------Alnwick---------------------
-----Gunter -- Rocha -- Dawson -- Bale -----
Bentley -- Huddlestone -- O'Hara -- Taraabt--

Rocha has had his day, I’d like to see Cesar play just to see why Harry hates him so much, would agree with the rest though. Should still be good enough

I'm hearing that Carlo Cuducini is about to sign as well - would be awesome backup to Gomes!

Yeah, imo Gomes is a fab keeper that went through a bad patch (that coincided with him playing with a bad thigh strain). He's been a totally different player since Tony Parks came in as goalkeeping coach.

How do Spurs bank roll their club? With the amount of money you've spent in the last couple of years plus the planned new stadium, you'd be forgiven in thinking that there is still some of Maxwells pension fund left over.

It's a fair question mate. One that the spurs fans on here just refuse to even think about.

Spurs have spent nigh on £150 in the past 4 years and yet they are still needing to have a summer clearout.

If you're going to do a pedantic post then you really need to make sure yours is 100% before hitting submit.

I believe I've explained it several times, but you've refused to believe it! Mainly due to amortised debt and extremely low (compared to other clubs) player wages.........we make a profit every year, so nothing to worry about my dear!

I don't know if Harry's going for reverse psychology, I suspect this is actually what he thinks:

"This is a football club that has been put together by I don't know who and I don't know how. It is a mish-mash of players. It is scary."

Honest but seems a bit like passing the buck. Our squad should be good enough to defend a 3 goal lead against a side from the league below

In truth, that comment is spot on. There did not seem to be any end objective in mind when half our players were signed.
