Is anyone else getting hit with loads of people being locked out for incorrect login attempts?
I just had 4 email alerts and had one last night!
I'm having trouble updating plugins as well?!

EDIT: Another 4 email alerts while typing this!

My website has now gone!
Why do these things have to happen when I'm busy and have a head ache!

I'm getting "500 Internal Server Error" messages for all of my WordPress websites hosted with Vidahost.
Anyone else?
Could the problem be their end?

Your site replies from a ping , resolves to this IP 188.65.112.252
Is the IP address correct?
Can you log into the control panel for the site and see anything?

Yes they are very quick with support. Maybe try substituting another index.php/htm to see if that loads.
Does anyone else have admin permissions or FTP access to wordpress root? Maybe someone else buggered it.

Sorry if my replies are bit over the place. My head ache has turned into a migraine and I have loads of work that I should be doing, rather than trying to sort this out.
Any other day apart from today!
I've sent a message to Vidahost and hopefully they will reply quickly.
Cheers,
Psycho
PS. I can login to the FTP and see all the files in place. And I can login to the Vidahost cPanel... but I'm not sure what to look for once I'm logged in.

Sure I've had something similar happen to my Wordpress site. Pretty sure it was a server problem - either SQL or PHP was just needed a quick re-boot or what ever these server bods do. Nothing wrong with the actual WP site.

Vidahost said that there were some errors in the .htaccess file.
They cleared the file and everything seems to be okay now.
They also said there were some bugs in the WP Better Security plugin.
I'll try and update the plugin, which I couldn't do earlier.
Cheers,
Psycho

I've now locked myself out of my website.
I think it's best if I just go to bed and give up on today.

Just change the admin password via SQL, FTP or the PHP script. Then go to bed feeling happier!

This is going to be a real newbie question.
I have one main domain www.mydomain.co.uk @ Vidahost which has 2 addon domains attached to it; /addon1 and /addon2. If I go to www.addon1.co.uk or www.addon2.co.uk then I go straight to their respective folders the mydomain's 'html' folder.
Can someone tell me how I go through the cPanel WP setup so that all 3 domains have their WP installation ? Do I install WP 3 times or just once ?

Just out of interest, can anyone else see my website?
http://www.ph-design.co.uk/
I'm just getting:
Quote:
Forbidden
You don't have permission to access / on this server.
Additionally, a 403 Forbidden error was encountered while trying to use an ErrorDocument to handle the request.
|
Whenever I try to view it... or any of my other websites, which I've not really touched today.
Psycho
PS. Vidahost said they will restore a backup from yesterday... I'm not sure how long that will take?

Thanks!
I'm not very hopeful that it will work for me by the morning.
Can anyone guide me on how to release the website lock for my user or IP address via the cPanel?
I thought I'd found the right place and deleted the details but I still can't get access.
Thanks,
Psycho

The following errors were found :
The PHP version is less than the required 5.2.4+ version!

How do I go about fixing that ?

I think the Vidahost need to update that. Maybe drop them an email and see what they say.
I think I saw something similar when I tried backing up my website and it said to contact my host.
