No-one sent them. As it was explained by the Doctor, they were pilot fish. That is they were a much smaller threat who hung around with the bigger fish (the Sycorax) as it were but had nothing to do with the bigger fish who were not in fact aware of them. The pilot fish were the ones who detected the vortex energy exhaled by the Doctor and wanted it to power their ships. The Sycorax were only interested in enslaving the population of Earth, once they had got the information from the Guinevere space probe.

I've only recently watched this but totally agree with the above. Overall it wasn't bad and Tennant was quite good.

The final viewing figures for this have come out and it was watched by 9.84 million people and came second only to Eastenders. The Doctor's old nemesis Coronation St could only muster 8.83 million

Now is that a triumph or what?

Just a 'bump' to say that The Christmas Invasion will be repeated on BBC Three at 9pm on Friday 10 February.

Not sure if the Attack of the Graske will be avalible than as well, but it still is avalible on line HERE.

Also it looks like there will be no all singing & dancing, extras filled release of The Christmas Invasion on DVD.
Instead it is due to be released as one of the 'vanilla' DVD's that will be released for "Series 2". It will be paired with the first episode of Series 2 New Earth & will be released late spring.

Shame really as I was hoping we would get a SE DVD of The Christmas Invasion , with the Children In Need Special, Attack of the Graske, those "missing" but now "found" Series 1 additional scenes/out-takes, & some other extras. On the plus side it WILL be included in the Series 2 boxset due to be released in November, so no doubt there will be a few extras about it on that set.

Please keep this thread spoiler free from any gossip for the Series Two, & keep this about the Christmas Invasion ONLY.
If you have any news etc about Series Two, please post in the Doctor Who - Season Two production & rumors thread. Maybe SPOILERS! thread

For any classic Who info please use the The Classic Doctor Who Thread

Shame as I was hoping that they would release at least a vanilla DVD of "The Christmas Invasion" just before the start of the new series. I was always expecting an all singing all dancing version to be released in the Series 2 box set.

New series won't start until April apparently, Easter weekend possibly.
