Amazon have updated Prime to allow you to stream content via Chromecast.

File this under 'good news'.

Didn't expect to see that happening. I guess Fire Sticks haven't taken off and/or with all the other big streaming services launching soon Amazon have probably realised they need to up the amount of people using Prime.

No this was part of a dispute with Google, they didn't sell any Google products on Amazon and last year Google removed YouTube from fire devices. Both companies have now reached an agreement, Google products are now back in the store. Amazon are even making an app for Android TV.

I spotted the recent Walberg/Berg collaboration, "Mile 22" is available on Netflix.

It's a fascinating mess of a movie that had potential but completely ruined by the most horrendous example of movie-editing I've ever witnessed. It's hyper-violent & the action scenes are really good if you can put up with the editing...

This film gave me a headache. Ended up fast-forwarding the 10min-long sequence in the tower block just to get to the end!

What was your main issue with the editing? It felt very Bay-ish at times.

I watched this last night. A strange, strange movie... Wahlberg was ridiculously unlikable, to the point you longed for that rubber band to snap off and hit him in the face, and the film was so oddly off-kilter. It really felt like it had no idea what it wanted to be. Kept simple this could have been a really fun little actioner. But this felt like a complete misfire. Were they really trying to suggest a potential franchise with that ending?!

I don't mind fast-cutting when done right (Bay being my favourite example) but this took things too far & didn't allow any of the action scenes to breath & ruined all of them. The worst example was the fight scene in the infirmary. There was some great choreography & it was beautifully ultra-violent, but I almost had a seizure with the relentless micro-editing. It made Bay look like Kubrick!
