Good Guardian article from Marr's book (Set the Boy Free) -

Johnny Marr: ‘The conversation about re-forming the Smiths came out of the blue'
It’s 29 years since the Smiths split up, and founding member Johnny Marr isn’t angry any more. So what happened when he and Morrissey met for a drink?

And Moz is in the news Down Under !

Morrissey to Barnaby Joyce: 'If meat is murder, live export is the slow boat to hell'
British singer pens letter on behalf of Peta to Australia’s deputy prime minister, requesting he put ‘the live-export industry out of its misery immediately’

Good article - 104 guitars! I met Johnny and he is very down to earth.

Joyce and Rourke should not have had 10% each - but nor an equal split. Its a shame that Morrissey won't admit that 10% wasn't right, whereas Johnny will.

Is it just his book he's promoting or does he have any new music out?

I've treated his... oddness over the past couple of years with the critical distance it justifies, but he's come out for For Britain today, the tiny party led by the woman so disturbed even UKIP didn't want her. Not at the stage of burning his records but not sure I'm of a mind to give him any more money.

He's said all kinds of far right rubbish this week. I'm surprised they haven't booked him on question time.

It does bring in the question of how much you can separate the man from the music. Although after his latest album I can happily forget about him.

Ignoring the latest racist accusations (come on, Moz!) there's some great live photos and video doing the rounds, such as here on Instagram. Sounds like he's dusted off a few more Smiths songs, too.

There was enough vagueness about his views for many years that allowed people to give him the benefit of the doubt but any doubt has long gone. It's really sad to see as I love The Smiths.
