I finally got my hands on the newly released second edition of Cash 'n' Guns last week after lusting after the out of print original for some time. It hit the table which great success on Saturday evening, with my son especially getting a little too into it! We tried to play it a few months back using playing cards, poker chips, and our fingers for guns, but it didn't seem that great. However it is much more fun with the proper game and the included foam guns to press into your rivals temples. I'd highly recommend it if you have a large enough group, it's for four to eight players.

Takenoko mostly. It's a lovely, dynamic game, with meaningful decisions to be made and a fair sprinkling of luck.

Both of the above games are on my to buy list.
Currently playing Jaipur, great card game to play with the wife over a few drinks.
King of Tokyo, my 7 year old daughter loves this and is a nice easy one for her to learn, alongside Forbidden Island.

Just played a few games of Super Rhino! with my 5 year old. It's a tower building card game, in the haba yellow box series. Great fun with the kids but should also make a good drinking game

We've also got Animal on Animal and Monza from Haba, which are both also great for the little ones.

Most recent games played are Carcassone, Ticket to Ride, RISK Legacy & Game of Thrones.

Next games to buy are Ticket to Ride Europe, Ticket to Ride India, Ticket to Ride Africa (looks like a theme developing there)

& Settlers of Catan.

Played many rounds of Coup last night, and realised how much I do enjoy it. It can be a bugger to win and sometimes seems to rely a bit on luck (or rather, events that are too hard to plan for), but I do enjoy playing it.

Also been enjoying Infiltration still.

For Sale is a light, filler game that was recommended to me a few times on here. Ooh, i like filler games, sometimes not in the mood for a 3 hr marathon!!

From reading the link, it sounds a bit like the "trading" phase of Monopoly, would that be a good comparison?

The first phase is an auction, where you make your bids based on the face value of the properties, and the relative values of those on offer in each round. So if in a 3 player game there are properties worth 25, 5 and 1, you'll bid more for the 25 then you would if the other properties were worth say 23 and 20.

Same goes for the second phase. There's no point selling your highest value asset if all the available cheques are a similar value, be it high or low. The big guns should come out when there is a big split in the values available. And there comes the real fun, when I know that you have the most valuable property and I expect you to play it, but you don't and you get a big relative cheque for peanuts, and still have the high value property in your hand

It's beautifully simple and only needs a hand or two of each phase to teach it. Takes c20 minutes to play. Top game

Had a really good 6 player session of Skulls and Roses on Saturday night. No one else had played it before but after a very quick rule explanation and trial round we got on with it. We played straight for about an hour and a half and didn't have a single 'bid' met

There's an element of wanting to stay involved which pushes the bidding up, plus lots of bluffing which makes it very hard to win. Hilarious when the last card turned over on a 12 bid turned out to be a skull.

I think someone on here recommended it, super game

Not been playing any recently and just got back from holiday but managed to pick up a copy of Space Hulk (4th Edition) today. A mild panic as only just found out about this and the online allocation looked to have sold out as no where had it available. Thankfully a local game store had some copies

Also awaiting delivery of Legendary Encounters: An Alien Deck Building Game - a co-op card game based on the Alien movies, which includes an optional traitor mechanic and ability for players to come back as aliens if they die to a chest-burster. Been getting great reviews so looking forward to this one!
