I recognised the face, but had to google who it was. I liked the speeder made out of a pod racer part.

There’s loads of nice touches like that throughout. I just think its really well done, the way they’re using existing races, planets, settings we all know about, but none of it feels clumsily crowbarred-in as some sort of fan service like they were doing with some of the recent movies.

It has something for everyone, from casual viewer to uber-nerds.

You compare it to say ‘Discovery’ and you can see why it wins out. Simple story of the week format with an arc that doesn’t need to dominate to work.

Is the guy at the end who I think it is.....

Re the guy at the end, yes, it is him! He’s just aged so I totally missed it first time round and had no idea who he was (in my defence I was on the turbo trainer at the time).

Which is cool but also strange as I was really pleased with how they dealt with the

That episode seemed like complete padding, until the very last shot, to me. Not that it wasn't good but ... the story barely moved on at all the whole episode bar the last 10 seconds.

I’m can’t remember now which book it was, think Aftermath, but believe that handled “his” return / survival and as now all cannon it fits with this show

The whole show is based on a weekly story.

Yip, was reading about that today on Den of Geek. I wasn’t sure what was considered canon and not tbh but will just go with it!

Well, as someone who isn't a huge Star Wars nerd, I had to Google who the guy at the end was. And I still didn't recognise him!

I understand that but ... presumably there is also series arc, as well, as per the series trailer of getting 'baby Yoda' back to the Jedi wherever they are.

He only appeared briefly in one of the prequels almost 20 years ago and, unless you knew the actor's name and were a bit of a geek, it is understandable to not know immediately who the character was.

Never thought of it like that, but that's spot on.

Thoroughly enjoyed the start of season 2 & wasn't aware I was supposed to recognise who that was at the end until I came on here.

Pity really, after all the hype & rumours about a possibly return of that character, it would have been a nice reversal if it was just someone else wearing his armour.

& hey, Raylan Givens in the Star Wars universe? Yes please!

Really enjoyable episode this week apart from the typical
that seems to be a recurring theme

Thought it was was well directed too in the hands of Peyton Reed

EDIT: forgot to mention about Dave Filloni shoehorning himself into a role again

I recognised the actor at the end of episode 1 straight away, but not a clue which one of thousands of possible characters he was meant to be!

Loved that episode - especially the baby Yoda antics.

Are they using the same group of directors as they used in Season 1?

He'll always be Jake the Muss to me and that was longer than 20 years ago.

Only just caught the spider episode but enjoyed it, hope the passenger is a key point this season otherwise it was very much filler.

As for baby yoda, he's a monster.

Another nice episode but it did feel a little ‘lite’

Big shout out to the effects this week. They’re incredible.

It does seem a little light on story but the look of the show is incredible. The way the desert or seascapes are blended with the CGI is flawless.
