The league's official name is constantly changing. First it was the FA Carling Premiership.
In 2001 it became the Barclaycard Premiership.
In 2004 it became the Barclays Premiership.
And in 2007 it became the Barclays Premier League.
So technically Blackburn have only won it under the old incarnation..

Always amazes me how many lazy journalists and pundits still refer to it as the Premiership.

So my take is that Liverpool have never won the Premiership, then.

Not just them, but any guy you meet in a pub or work with as well.
It winds me up more than it should.

LOL ... https://twitter.com/Watch_LFC/status...452639744?s=09 you tell him Andy. The non-award of the stonewall penalty, yesterday, was probably the craziest decision I have seen in years and IMHO was in some part a result of how badly VAR had been seen to be in midweek.
The refereeing, and especially VAR, has been a complete farce for most teams from the very first game of the restart up until this weekend. And it is not showing any signs that it is going to improve before the season ends. And what is the point of PGMOL coming out with statements about how the VARs have made crucial, games changing mistakes, and yet the people involved still get put in charge of big games just 3 days later.
It's a bloody good job that Mike "if you didn't know I was **** you'd think I was corrup" Riley won't be in charge of it next season. Collina will come in and show Riley how it's done; he has already made subtle hints recently at what he thinks of the Premier League's implementation.

Always criticising.
The people in charge have made decisions in the best interests of the c̶o̶u̶n̶t̶r̶y̶ game. They couldn't possibly have know all the variables.
Maybe you should just get behind them and cheer them on for the sterling job they have done?

There are very few variables involved especially that can justify the mistakes they are making every single week.
But still, let's all commend them on the sterling job they are doing regardless how how much money such 'mistakes' are costing clubs or jobs are potentially being at risk but people who aren't accountable to anyone for anything they do.

The PGMOL's changing story about the Pickford challenge was just as crazy; the VAR didn't even look at it ( so why were they checking for offside then? ) then became the VAR did look at it but said there was nothing wrong with it. Which means the FA can't even do anything now either - not that they would have as they are just as bent as the refs.
Coote is a ******* disgrace of a ref and should be sacked; he had already been banned TWICE for making result changing mistakes as VAR, and failed the FIFA fitness test before the season started. He is also the same ref who Robbo called "******* useless" at the end of the Burnley game last season ( picked up by live TV at the time ).
Good on the club for demanding the PL explain themselves - not that anything will come from that either; except, very likely, being on the receiving end of more outrageous decisions

The other concerning thing ... when you look at the still that 'proves' Mane is offside, have a look at where the ball is.

So the official excuse for the Pickford decision is that it was after the offside so couldn't be sent off, but the Richarlison red was after the whistle as well, so by that argument neither of them can be sent off?!?!?!
In fact, you can see on the reverse angle of Pickford piling into him that the linesman doesn't put his flag up until after the collision, so as per the directive, play is not stopped for offside until he competes for the ball. So the foul is made whilst play is active, it can't be a penalty because the offside precedes it, but the foul is not made after the whistle, it is still in play so why can't it be a red card?

The last reported comment from the PGMOL was that both the ref and VAR saw/checked the Pickford assault and saw no clear and obvious error.
There is NOTHING in the rules to say you can't be penalised after play has been stopped - it happens all the time. And as you say, if such a rule existed then Oliver can not possibly send off Richarlison as he had already stopped play for an earlier foul.
The PGMOL are just trying to cover their arses - again - rather than doing the right thing and ensuring that corrupt ***** like David Coote are never involved in officiating a game AT ANY LEVEL in this country ever again.

Offside is totally irrelevant. If you punch or kick someone when the ball is out of play you get sent off. You can happily be sent off after the final whistle.

They deemed it a genuine attempt to play the ball - albeit about a foot too high and the ball being long gone... That exact reasoning should be an argument for Richarlison to contest his red card!
Oh of course it is an arse covering exercise and I expect no further comments on the matter from them. I would not say Coote is corrupt, but most definitely incompetent. And Michael Oliver is just as fallible as at the point of contact the flag was down, so play was live and he should've been keeping up with it, but he deems that "tackle" as fine!! The other question to ask is why was it not reviewed whilst they treated Virgil on the pitch anyway? There would be no "disrupted flow of the game" as it was stopped anyway, yet they can stop the game and spend minutes reviewing marginal offsides

I watched MOTD this morning. Both decisions should have been in Liverpool's favour. The "offside" rule is going to be a joke this year if they apply it like that.

Liverpool can go crying to the league all they like. The fact is he was offside. The lines showed it was tight, but the "new t-shirt line" is the new standard instead of the top of the shoulder. Every team and player knew this going into the season.
All teams have had to suffer these close offside calls last season, not least Wolves at Anfield. The least Liverpool could do is to suffer it with the same grace every other team has had to and not be such entitled whining babies any time things go against them.

You could at least get your facts right - the new standard is not at the end of the t-shirt line but where the armpit finishes ( pretty much where the shirt badge stops ).
And that's before you look at the still they used and see the ball is already 6" away from Thiago's boot. At one stage they were going to use a still from where the ball was beyond's standing leg FFS
And let's not forget the "armpit offside" actually first happened against Liverpool, and the Wolves offside ( at Anfield ) was nowhere near as close as any of the ludicrously tight/wrong decisions other clubs have had.
