Crucial M500 SSD sale.

Crucial Memory

The 240GB looks particularly good value and is cheaper than anything in google shopping by about £20

Btw, if you've never had an SSD and are on the fence about them, Crucial have a 45 day money back guarantee! This is why I bought my first SSD from them. I just couldn't believe they could be as good as people were saying. But they are.

Thinking about getting one of these, will these fit straight into a 3.5" floppy bay?

Err... Yesterday. Maybe! The link I saw said it was a 24 hour sale, and that does appear to be have been the case on the US site. But ours seems to be a 3 day sale.

They're 2.5" hard drive sized. You can get 3.5" HD to 2.5" HD adaptors for them - not sure how floppy bays differ.

Having said that, any kind of adaptor is fairly optional. They have no moving parts so movement won't harm them. And they're so damned light that whilst my first one has an adaptor, two of my more recent ones are held in place simply via the tension in the sata leads!
You also also use double sided tape or something.

The 240 is faster than the roadrunner on speed

Or that's how it feels (I've got one in my machine as a boot/apps drive), if I could afford it I'd probably add a second one to take over some of my games (they're on an OCZ 480gb drive I got cheapish).
