Would this happen in America? I don't think so:
http://www.digitalspy.co.uk/tv/news/...-ad-break.html
ITV will show the world's first entire ad break made from Lego on Sunday (February 9). To promote Warner Bros' The LEGO Movie, adverts from Confused.com, Premier Inn and BT will receive the Lego treatment during the centre break of Dancing on Ice.

If, like me, you've Sky+ed DoI and are just going to wind through it I'll save you the effort and tell you its 75mins in. Wasn't as good as I hoped.

Anyone ever tried watching anything on 4OD? I've just tried to watch 8 out of 10 cats does countdown and there's some children's charity advert that pops up. Okay.. well they need to have adverts. But it immediately shows graphic childbirth. Like about two seconds after the program stops.. bloody baby being pulled from vagina. No warning. "Ah Rachel Riley.... hmmm Conundrum... title card.. wait holy crap what the hell... gahh" Not in-keeping with the content!
Then there's some worthless telephone advert for a corporation I've deliberately expunged the name of.
The big problem however is that you can't fast forward in the program you are watching without an immediate unskipable repeat of ALL the aforementioned adverts... every time. So okay, you can JUST about live with that it if you watch all the 45 minute show in one go, no stopping. But when the program randomly cuts out.. and the stream decides to goes blank... and you weren't sure exactly which minute you were up to... It's completely un-watch-able! Madness!
Guess I'm just going to have to not watch it all. Or maybe there's a far more convenient manner to see it, where they get no advert views. Either way, their loss. Greedy miscreants.

I cannot fathom why they created that ad, people don't find the Brummie/Black Country accent endearing, they find it annoying - particularly when it's exaggerated to the point it is in the ads!

I gave up on trying to watch Shameless on 4OD for the same reason. I am really not prepared to sit through ad breaks now.

What's also a backfire is that at least with an advert like GoCompare or the Meerkats you could remember what the brand is. I've seen that cupcake abomination quite a few times now (mainly on Brooker's tirades) but still can't remember what they're advertising (though even if I could I'd boycott the company on principal!)

TBF after listening to the digital fix podcast I'm pretty sure Shingster has a Black Country accent himself

Yeah if you're not concentrating 100% on the ad when it's on then you'd never know what the product or brand name is due to the "comedic" mis-pronunciation. Surely a good advert should grab your attention or sink in when they're just on in the background!

Ha me too! And don't you get fed up when people assume you're a brummie?
