i don't know.. if anyone's going to be the first guy ever to lose MITB then my vote would be on Cena as it's clear he doesn't need the title to be involved to be the main event man, but what with The Rock tweeting again about wanting to win the WWE championship, it would set it up nicely if Cena won the title as they could have a match for the title later in the year (Summerslam probably a bit close, but i wouldn't bet against it)

Very true when you consider that Cena has been in every Main Event match this year (ok, the Rumble had 29 other guys in it but it was still the main event of the PPV).
Sorry Punk? Your the WWE Champ or something?? Didn't see you there because WWE have put you in Cena's shadow....
the Bleacher Report are always saying how Punk isn't over with the fans so the WWE have to rely on Cena, but to me Punk seems far more over than Cena is, with the added bonus that he can also wrestle.

Do we think there is any chance that CM Punk will keep his title on Monday? I personally can't see it.
I've read a few reports that say he won't. They always say that those who win the MITB, always win the title after cashing in the contract. So for Cena to lose, as he's the one that is basically expected to win, would be huge. To have him lose clean would be nice but it's possible that The Rock or Big Show will interfere, costing him the win.
Cena is so over that he could lose the match clean and it wouldn't hurt his character but WWE being WWE they'll want to protect him and if he does lose, it'll be with interference.
Or, if they really want to mix things up and it being the 1000th show, Punk can turn heel and use a heelish move to keep the belt (use Cena's briefcase to knock him out whilst the ref's down or something).

To me it looks like Cena is more over with Kids and CM Punk with adults.
Raw 1000 was good, loads of attitude era stars making an appearance, and some other great returns. WWE finally legitimizing the IC title and a very eventful main event match!
Did CM Punk just turn heel?

I agree it was better than I thought it would be
A 3 hr crowd pleaser. Lets see if they can keep it up
no Stone Cold thought that should have been a cert for this one
Edit: Seems like there was a good reason for that:
On July 23, 2012 WWE celebrated the 1,oooth episode of Monday Night Raw. I watched the show from my home in Los Angeles. After watching the show, I got on my Twitter account, @steveaustinBSR, to read responses to the show. There were many people blaming Vince McMahon and the WWE for not having SCSA on the show. And there were some folks who had some very negative things to say about me, personally.
The reason I did not attend RAW 1,000 was because I underwent a major knee surgery on my left knee on July 2, 2012. Dr. Neal ElAttrache of the Kerlan-Jobe Orthopaedic Clinic in Los Angeles, CA performed the surgery.
The surgery was a complete success. I am currently three weeks post op. I began physical therapy a few days ago. I had a world class surgeon and a great medical team working on me. I am now working with a top notch PT team. I am still on crutches and will probably lose the crutches in another week. Then I will be in a custom knee brace much like the braces I wore in the ring for 9-12 weeks.
STONE COLD STEVE AUSTIN IS A 100% ASS KICKING MACHINE. There was no way I was going to limp down the ramp on crutches for RAW 1,000. It was time to get my knee fixed. The decision to no-show RAW 1,000 was made by me and no one else. I have always taken pride in making my shots and have never faked an injury or illness. Pro Wrestling is a tough game and it was time to pay the piper for some of the damage I incurred in the ring. No gripes. No complaints.
To the fans that were hoping to see SCSA, I'm sorry I missed the show. I would have loved to be there under different circumstances. I normally keep my personal business to myself, but due to feedback and incorrect speculation, I have posted this blog and given the 411 on why I was not at RAW 1,000.
I will post more blogs about my PT and recovery soon.
Ha. I did laugh at The Undertaker at one point during his intro:
His music seem to be timed at the point where he removed his hood. Only it got caught on his newly shaven head, so his scowling look was half covered and he just looked like a fool.

Also, Stephanie McMahon:
Yeah, i've wanted Stephanie to come back to the WWE for a long time but the most we get are the odd skit with her and HHH in the family home every now and again, so it was a welcome surprise for her to turn up. It'd be nice if she stuck around but i don't think she will.
The thing with the Underaker made me laugh too. It's always funny when a wrestler has a wardrobe malfunction
also, can't remember who it was but the other week in WWE i remember noticing that after someone got thrown out of the ring, their trunks had split open at the back
