Suarez and Flanagan on the bench today for Kuyt and Kelly. I think Suarez starting last week was an error on our part and I think you can see that today. I'd imagine he would have been working on fitness all this week trying to build it up for the season. Him coming off the bench for the last 30 mins will be a major threat.

I concur - although you mean Kelly in for Flanagan not Flanagan .
Just reposting this from the end of the other thread

Need some help and advice please.
Only ever been on the stadium tour and not to a matchday.
Friend has given me 2 tickets to the Bolton match next week - seats in the paddock.
I'll most likely be taking my little lad with me (he is about as chuffed as I am).
Now:
-coming from "down the east Lancs road" would you recommend driving it or getting the train? If the latter how do I get to the stadium?
-If driving where would I be parking on matchday (for the tour I just parked at the ground)?
-The ticket will state which turnstyle I need to use I guess and once I get near I suppose I wing it...
-What time should we aim to get there for?
Cheers

Yeah nearly had a heart attack when they said no Suarez.
Set pieces will be very important. Frimpong will give away a few free kicks.
I hope we're not rushing Henderson. Seems like we're shoe horning him in.

It looks like it could be more 4-3-3 with Downing and Kuyt wider with Henderson more central. Need to dominate that inexperienced central midfield of Arsenal and try and cut the supply to that front line.

We're definately look short of pace up front. Hopefully Kenny will have been pleased with how much possession we had in the first half give Suarez a run out.

Not happy with lack of threats at thd front. Suarez will hopefully sort it out.

We really lacked pace up front and played a cautious game, but never really looked to have any problems and had a lot of the play. I've never seen Arsenal look so out of sorts. I have a gooner friend at the match who was texting, slagging the ref off for the red card. Absolutely no complaints IMO, that was a nasty late tackle with his studs left in, told him to watch it again on MOTD later.
Wenger really needs to pick them back up otherwise United will tear them apart next week and they could be playing a lot of Thusrdays and Sunday.

Mereiles needs to be kept as well...
He revels in that role behind the striker.

To think of all the runarounds we've had at Arsenal in the last decade
Terrific result and big up to Enrique who was utterly fantastic! LB slot sorted for a long time me thinks. Could be the best signing we've made this summer.

Yeah, Enrique was good, solid but able to get forward I'm quietly impressed with Downing, he's a lot quicker than I thought he was and gets about the park well.
Carroll looked a bit of a donkey TBH, he might be good when he owns the CBs but Vermaelen owned him today, refreshingly better when Raul and Suarez came on and dragged the back four about.

Downing is apparently one of the 3 quickest players at the club according to the coaches I read. I just can't wait till Gerrard and Johnson are back because for us!

He looks it! But I always thought when he was at boro and came into the England side that he wasn't that pacy.
Reckon if Johnson comes into the side it should be at RW, but I much prefer the way we play without Carroll, with the likes of Suarez, Meireles, Downing and Maxi getting in behind the fullbacks.

I wouldn't be too hard on Carroll yet, Vermaelen was easily Arsenal's best player, and Carroll still got a good header away which Szczesny did very well to save.

Arsenal boss Arsene Wenger on his side's 2-0 defeat by Liverpool: "It looks like both goals were offside. The referees are (supposed to be) professional."

I think he did a good job in wearing them down - he needs to be more mobile in the box but he was quite isolated again at times today. Vermaelen was outstanding in the air for them.
