Did you post that just to prove my point??

You don't think hoping City and Chelsea will go out of business soon is bitter?

Ridiculous to be honest, and lowering the tone of what seems to be an otherwise decent forum (except maybe the general board!)

No wonder the City thread is quiet if this is the level of bitterness fans have to put up with.
Eastlander, welcome to the thread pal

You'll find that DY comes across as a decent bloke but hates what City and Chelsea have become. You will either rise to him or accept his hatred of your club. I long ago along with others decided to accept that City have now become a target for all sorts of abuse from football fans (mainly of the top 4), but a lot of fans I have met from other clubs like the traditional establisment getting shook up a bit.

Talking to a Chelsea fan yesterday when I was down near Heathrow and he just chuckled away and said you just have to get used to it.

My opinion for what it's worth is that DY doesn't like what football has become across the board. Jumpers for goalposts and all that

Fixed that for you.

Cheers mate, will probably just ignore him... Have enough idiots to banter with on Bluemoon, and they are mostly City fans

Wonder if his opinion would be the same if his club replaced either City or Chelsea in the money stakes? Suspect not.

Don't understand the 'purity of football moral high ground' argument though when you toss around 'tinpot Championship club' as an insult? Hardly supporting the grass roots that is it?

Would I be right in assuming he supports a club that has been displaced from the 'top table' (or had aspirations of making it) by either City or Chelsea?

Eastlander, DY is a man of his convictions. He is a Spurs fan who said he would rather his team went to the wall than have a rich owner. Hang on a minute.....

Says who? United fans

If you take this thread I don't see much bitterness from the City fans, most seem level headed and stand up for their team despite a lot of baiting from other fans

I would have guessed Everton to be honest - at least then the moral high ground element wouldn't have been completely hypocritical.

Guess it's okay when Spurs are spending a fortune, but unfair when someone else comes along?

No DY didn't say that. If you can't see the difference between how Spurs and Man City operate or, indeed, the difference between the legitimacy of the spending of Man City and the likes of Liverpool and Man U then you really are stupider than I imagined. And, if the three of you can read then you'll see that I was invited into the thread to explain my opinion of your tinpot outfit.

I'm not going to take all four City fans on this thread as the representation of a MASSIVE club like City's fan base.

Erm, he was asked to give his opinion by a City fan who knew full well what the response would be.

If you know you're not going to like the answers then don't ask the questions.

Good luck to you but I'd rather see my club wound up than become what Man City are.

C'mon Barny you can do better than that.

DY you were invited indeed, I enjoy your posts and never say that you are trolling. Infact I have said that you are a man of your convictions and come across as a decent bloke

Why? It's a discussion forum. Just saying that he was poked into that response.

I poked DY

To be fair FD some people don't like confrontation.

Onto a different topic, some of the papers today have made up (I mean are reporting that Inter and City are thinking over a Tevez and Wesley Sneijder swap deal. Any thoughts from City fans or indeed any other footy fans.

I'd be disappointed if Sneijder went to City as I would like him at United, but it's not going to happen, he doesn't fit United's profile of player now. I also have faith, having seen last weekend's match that Cleverley could be the next Beckham type player, who did their apprenticeship at other clubs then stepped up.

Hopefully United will buy Goetze from Dortmund next season.

I'd rather keep hold of Tevez myself, but if that's not possible then Sneijder would ease the pain.

Aguero, Dzeko, Balotelli is a better three than most have anyway, so if we must lose him...

Nasri is vital for me though. Think he will be great for us. Assume we are waiting for his CL ban to be served on Tuesday before completing that deal?
