James Bond in HD via SKY
So has anyone watched any of the films (some now available via Anytime on HD) - movie subscribers only I think.
Just started watching Casino Royale! never realised Niven had a stutter in his role!

watched you only live twice.
Looked a very good picture to me. Enjoyed it a lot.
Although it has been a long time since i saw it.
It certainly looked to be the main bond inspiration for dr evil, found myself more than once talking about a"secret volcano lair" and saying to the dog "come mr bigglesworth" even tho that isnt his name

If you want to keep any for later, press record in the anytime and it moves it over to your planner. Only just found this out!

I thought Casino Royale was average. First time I'd seen the film and not that impressed!!! (the original version!).
Dr No will now get a viewing !

Was quite surprised to find all these waiting today - will move a few over for later consumption.
I notice that it's mostly early-to-mid stuff, with one Brosnan in there and no Dalton. I wonder if SKY might fill in the gaps when these expire next week?

Goldfinger was terrible. The picture is full of scratches and dust and, considering it's supposed to be in HD, looked soft.
I don't know how it will compare to the Blu ray release, but I have Goldfinger on standard DVD, and it looked better then the print Sky showed!
It's actually put me off a little.

His stutter is much clearer in HD.

A mixed bag. Dr No good but way off the BR. Man with Golden looks excellent, bodes well.
Goldfinger was dreadful.

And there was me thinking Casino Royale was going to be the Daniel Craig film !!??!! Surely no one is taking the David Niven version seriously ?
Also, from a technical POV - were the early Bonds filmed in the cinema 'equivalent' of HD ? And if not how are they now able to claim to HD versions if they're simply upscaling the original SD material ?

assume these are from the recent HD remasters from the original negs
film is much higher resolution than 1080
just watched most of 'Live and Let Die' - looked stunning, sounded good too

I've so far watched Diamonds are Forever (which is much worse than I remember) and The Man With The Golden Gun (enjoyable, but not the best Bond movie by far).
Am saving Live and Let Die for a while, I love that film so want to savour it
PQ has been good on both so far.

Anyone watching these again on ITV ?
Am i the only person in the world that likes Diamonds are Forever ?
As with any Bond it seems to be the one you watched the most as a kid, which was Diamonds for me.
Obviously its rubbish but i always enjoy it, even with Sean not bothering and it not making much sense

Just about to start watching them all in sequence and have picked up the original books too. I’m pretty sure there’s something to be enjoyed in all of them, even though the quality gets a bit patchy at times.
Latest lockdown binge.... I think its The X-Files after that...
