Just starting Red Dragon by Thomas Harris. Haven't read it before but I read SotL years ago.

Just finished 'The Dark Defiles', the last of a dark fantasy trilogy from Richard Morgan. Sped through the first couple but found it a bit of a slog but glad I got to the end.

Was mulling over going back to the James Corey sci-fi series (read Leviathan Wakes a while ago) but instead started the Sebastian Faulks James Bond novel.

After the very good Child 44, I've gone for something a little lighter and I'm reading I, Partridge for the third time. It gets better with every read.

I started Station Eleven today after picking it up cheap on Amazon a few weeks ago. 20% of the way through and enjoying it so far

Coincidentally I started Station Eleven yesterday and it's really gripped me. Only 7-8% in but really enjoying it.

Apparently she only ended up writing it as her first three books got labelled as 'crime fiction', and she didn't see herself as a crime writer. So she did something different...

Finished Station Eleven. Absolutely loved it. Very different to what I expected which is always good.

Just read Ready Player one which I enjoyed immensely..

Having read 11/22/63 just before this, I think I will go with another Stephen King... Mr Mercedes..

Grabbed the new Star Wars : Aftermath by Chuck Wendig on Kindle today, so will start that tonight.

Paid full whack for it. Think I've had enough freebies and bargains lately so wasn't too bothered.

Followed your lead and did the same. Started it last night.

The quality of writing is very good (as with Tarkin). And they're written for adults rather than teens too.

I saw this yesterday having been oblivious to it previously - is this supposed to be the official/canon storyline following ROTJ? I notice there were a few 'young adult' stories that had the same tie-in...

Started reading The Knife of Never Letting Go (Chaos Walking) for this month's book club, only a couple of chapters in but enjoying it already.

Last month's book was White is for Witching most of the rest of the group thought it was good but I really didn't like it at all.

Yes starts from end of Jedi and there will be 3 books to span the gap between Jedi and Force Awakens. I assume part 2 next month then part 3 in November.

This is the 'adult' one like rusty said.

I walked far too much yesterday in the sun so was a bit too tired to start this last night. Will rectify that this evening though.

Really enjoyed Mr Mercedes, best King read in many a year (last one i really enjoyed was Buick 8). Will read sequal just waiting on price drop

11/12/63 was great for most part and loved his take in time travel but ending let it down

As above Star Wars Aftermath popped up on my kindle this week but its taken second billing to latest Lee Child / Jack Reacher

20% in and so far could saved my money and reas and other of the last half dozen and probably not spotted difference.

Recent reads:

Armada - Ernest Cline. Not as good as Ready Player One but still an entertaining read. If you didn't like RPO then you won't like this.

Last Light - Alex Scarrow. An interesting what if scenario - how screwed up would the planet get in a week if the oil stopped running? Not particularly well written but the premise was interesting enough to get me through.

Afterlight - Alex Scarrow. A sequel to Last Light which jumps ten years into the future. OK, but nothing great.

The First Fifteen Lives of Harry August - Claire North. Just started reading this and am about a quarter of the way through. Very good so far.
