The (ongoing) Official league two thread 2012-2013
Its been a while since Southend have been in League 2 but after last season, its hardly a surprise
As of this evening we were finally able to sign the 17 players that Paul Sturrock, our new manager had signed up on pre contracts due to a transfer embargo being in place over the summer
We start off as we finished last season, with Stockport, and after watching the friendly against West Ham, I'm more optimistic than I have been for a while
Bradford or Gillingham to win the league
I'll settle for midtable and consilidation. Never thought I'd say that about Southend in League 2

Port Vale finally look like they might be able to genuinely push for playoffs at least this year. Micky Adams has turned the playing side around and there's even some loaded banker wants to buy into the club. Good result today at Bury which we need to follow up with a strong home win next week to get the fans on board and get some momentum going.
Fancy Rotherham to go close, Bradford should do well but wouldn't be surprised if they fall short.

I'd hoped not to post in this thread for a little while. Ho hum.
At least we're off to a good start to the season. Hoping for at least a playoff spot (which we'll then waste in traditional fashion).

You should have been in double figures today
3 games in and we can tell its going to be a long season

Why can we not win games? It's getting ridiculous, we've drawn about 90% of the games so far this season.

Finally got a run of wins under our belt
The season's beginning to shape up nicely - not much to separate the top half of the table yet.

Re-Bradford
Was full of optimism before the start of the season (after the way we ended last season on a high). All the pundits were tipping us for promotion but so far this season we have been terrible. Sometimes unlucky but mostly terrible Nice to get first win on saturday since August but the players seriously need to get with the program or another year in league 2 beckons

Lazy and ill-informed pundits have been doing that for the last three seasons

Hello league 2 we (Swindon) meet again. Looking forward to playing Sturrock's Swindon B team next year. Can we have Barry Corr back, you seem to have fixed him.

As always, we're taking it right to the last game and not making it easy for ourselves. Need to match the Shrews' result to keep automatic promotion and so avoid the playoffs, which we always lose.

Certainly does! Collingwood's leader of Wycombe council too, so it looks hopeful for the community stadium being blocked

Welcome back
Its amazing how some of our fans slated Corr and complained that we needed a 20 goals a season striker...
Would be nice to keep Grant (no chance) and Ferdinand (ditto).
Shame about Tilson and Lincoln
Roll on next season and our terrible pink away shirt
