Really wanted this when it came out but couldn't justify cost. Then series 2 came out and was so much better. Do I still want it? Will I ever find 10 hours to watch it? Decisions. Decisions. Cheers for link.

Am tempted. Is it really that much better than the movie?

Well I bought the first episodes on DVD and thoroughly enjoyed the stories and animation...and if the remaining episodes are half as good as the first, then it's definetley worth purchasing it at this price! At the end the day, you could buy a film on Blu Ray for this amount, but you're getting the first season for the same price, so plenty to watch for your money! If you like Star Wars, then I don't think you can go wrong...they're alot better than the prequels.

Is this the series that followed on from the film?

You could say that, in term of timeline, it is set between Attack of the Clones and Revenge of the Sith. The Clone Wars feature, sort of set up the series...but it is not essential to have watched it to enjoy the series. The series just fills in the gaps between the two live-action movies, detailing events and battles within the Clone Wars.
I found the way they present the series is very good, especially because they concentrated on the smaller characters from the prequel trilogy, giving them all bigger roles, especially the Clone Troopers.

This is a mint series with cool extras.
It's hard to believe you can watch this kind quality and they're TV series not theatrical productions?!

Tempted by this, although at first I was confusing it with the older 2003 non CGI version which I've heard is better.

I loved Genndy Tartakovsky's series, it was just insane, the opening sequence of episode 21 when the Clones come to rescue the Jedi from Grievous, is just about the coolest action scene in any form of Star Wars, as is the whole attempted abduction of Palpatine from later in season 3.
I was dreading the new CGI version, thinking it would ruin what had come before. But hats off to them, it's just brilliant. We've had two fantastic seasons, I have the first on Blu-Ray and it looks stunning, will be getting the second as soon as it's released.
Overall I'd say both the original traditionally animated series, and the new CGI series are about equal in quality, although cleary the current one has a far greater scope and depth.
Snap this up, tis a bargain and you won't be dissappointed.
