The Shield final season on Five USA

Didn't want to go in to the proper thread as I want to steer clear of spoilers ... seen up to episode 4 (i think), and to be honest i think this is one of the weakest seasons so far. I was expecting much better. Does it get any better than this?

I think I'm not alone in saying that from about episode 6 it becomes much better and finally you might well feel it is probably even better than season 5.

thanks bosque . I have to say after seeing ep 4 i almost lost faith and deleted my series link on Sky+. I think I'll stick with it, seeing as I have seen all the past seasons and its not many episodes to go now.

Is season 5 the one with Forrest Whitaker? That indeed is my favourite season. But so far S7 has been crap with no sense of direction. As I said I'll stick with it though.

This is one show I meant to watch after I watched The Wire. Didn't get around to it, but apparently one of the best police shows around.

Is season 1 on blu-ray yet?

Also watching on 5USA here. Felt it has been a bit slow but building towards the end, I read an interview with Chiklis who said the season explodes after episode 6 or so.

The dialogue is soooo clunky this season, it just seems to be Vic alternating between saying Mexis, Salvadoreans, Armenians and 19ers as quickly as possible.

It's been kinda rubbish so far. It doesn't really help that Five took such a looooooonnnnng break between seasons & didn't re-run season 6 in the run up to showing season 7. I honestly have no clue what's going on with the strike team, the Mexicans, Armenians & whichever other random gang they seem to bring in each week.

So far this season the only enjoyment I've got out of it has been the stuff with Dutch & Billings. I still think Dutch deserves his own show.

Absolutely loved the first 6 season though!

If you were to look in the other thread you would find other people (including me) expressing similar concerns when they first aired.

Fear not, it gets better and the last few eps are some of the best telly ever made IMO.

As stated above by others it does get a LOT better after about ep 6 or 7. I am about two weeks behind Five USA pace and can't wait to see the rest now !

What episode are we at on Five USA and how many more to go?

I'd agree with others that the earlier episodes of this season were poor but since the episode where
it has really picked up.

Bad enough that this has been given the grave-yard showing on Five USA but - from what the voice-over said last night - it sounds as though they are spreading the the final episode over two Mondays .

Last ever episode tonight.

I did not expect Shane to do what he did last week. That was totally unexpected.

Have to admit i was expecting more from the Shane storyline. Couldn't help but feel it was a bit of a cop-out.

I guess we were all expecting a Shane vs. Vic showdown, but what Shane did was pretty dramatic, brought a tear to my eye too.

Bring on the last ever episode.
