That's ridiculously expensive! Luckily Sky Sports barely had any sport worth watching apart from premier league weekends so pub for me.

Have to admit I've never seen the appeal of Sky Sports, for the few matches I'm that interested in I can go to a pub. I just don't see the need to watch wall to wall football matches of teams I don't really care that much about.

It's Sky Sports, not Sky Football. If you don't watch the golf, rugby, cricket etc of course your not going to get value from it.

Sky been on again and offered the 60% discount plus £100 cashback with no contract - which essentially gives me free Sky for 6 months.
That's twice in the last 14 months I've had that offer so whilst I'm contracted to BT I'll be watching Sky.
My contract for BT (fibre/phone/TV) runs out in Nov so I'll be free to negotiate a contracted deal with Sky then.
What is a good price for Sky phone/fibre/basic TV package plus sports and HD?

I've renewed with sky today. TV package was due to cancel on Monday and they came back with an offer I decided to keep.
We were paying 94 a month for everything (inc phone and bb) except sports or hd. Shocking I know.
Now we are paying 68 a month, for everything inc sports and hd a new 2tb box, multi room, sky go extra. 12 month contract.
From Monday we would have been paying 42 a month just for fibre and phone. Now paying 68 - so 26 extra for everything else.
Dropping Netflix so saving 7 quid there.
Multi room is a funny one. I'm not that fussed. But it was 7.25 with a 2tb box. So for 86 quid, I get a 2tb box, sky wired upstairs, so next year I can drop multi room and stick with freesat.
They took something off everything - bb (£10) line rental (£4) hd (£3), multi room (4. 25) TV package (50% off).
So close to getting out but th 42 quid and not even having sky+ was too hard.

Sky really **** me off, I've read of loads of people getting decent discounts but every time I try I get nothing. The only thing I ever got was new HD box after mine broke after the warranty expired, I told them I couldn't afford a new one so would have to cancel otherwise.

Probably looking at around £60 p/m as a good price for that lot (including line rental).

I think the only ones who give a decent discount are the cancellation. And downgrades team. They gave me the above when the normal people couldn't come close.

Yeah I know, every time I've tried I used cancellations. I even cancelled my account a few years back and waited for that call but it never came.
They know what they are doing, they look at the account and say "he's been a subscriber for decades he isn't going to leave us"

If they haven't rung with a couple of days to go, ring them. That's what I did yesterday. I had a complaint that helped though (they sent me an offer through the post which when I tried to take it, wasn't available and I'd been told it was just tough luck). They bent over backwards for me (instead of me bending over forwards for them).

That's a great price!Which TV package did you get? The full one?
Did you also get movies?

I'm now confused ... So you DID get multi room and pay £86/m? Rather than the £68 you said earlier?.

Looks like our Sky box is finally on the way out... Its been a faithful servant but even with great signal strength we're getting loads of failed recordings and have to power cycle it every few days.
Is it worth phoning up and seeing if they'll replace the box or have I no choice but to suck it up and buy a new one unless I sign up for lots of new services?

I'm surprised how often I see new ones go for £10-15 on Facebook. People getting upgrades or whatever and not being arsed to set it up I imagine.

caveat emptor on those.
apparently there is some sort of scam whereby people sign up, get the box, cancel the contract and sell the box instead of returning it. sky then have the ability to block/brick the box, about which the new owners can do nothing (even though they bought in good faith).

To answer your questions, i got absolutely everything inc multiroom for 68 a month.
The 86 is the 7.25 a month I'm paying for multiroom added up over 12 months. That's included in the 68 a month. I'd have been paying 61 a month if I'd not taken the multiroom.
The calculation was 86 for the box by having multiroom against 250 for the box and no multi room.

Ah ...
Well, bearing that in mind, last time mine went teats up I gave them a call and got a replacement pretty cheap. They're supposedly £250 from Sky but I got one for 'free' if I agreed to take out some kind of warranty cover for six months. Cost me about £70.
I'm sure you could get one free if you play hardball and threaten to cancel, but that's not really how I roll.

Gets even better.
Logged into account.
2 x £50 bill credits.
1 x £48 bill credit (for what was about to go out on the 12th but hasn't).
1 x £40 bill credit for next months bill (which covers this month and next month).
Next months bill is over 80 quid but covers sept 12th through to November 11th.
All told, that's another 188 off. Nothing to pay this month, next month will come out of the credit left on the account and still another £20 or so off the following month.
The bills a bit of a mess but looks good! My head hurts trying to explain it!

How are you a subscriber if you cancelled? Did you bottle it?
But yes, they know, they can see it on a screen. They see you watched 120 hours of SKY atlantic last month and how much it'd all cost moving to another provider (and whether you can move to another provider or not).
I think you get the best deals if you are a recent new customer with no loyalty, as they know you'll jump ship elsewhere
