Ah i did not realise that you could record free to view HD channels if you have an HD box and an active subscription. You definitely do not need to pay the additional £10 for HD?

I called to get it for £150 last week. Didn't have the letter but thought I'd ask anyway. Told her I had an old Thomson box and wanted to take advantage of the £150 upgrade offer. She said that's fine but when she tried to put it through it was coming up as £400+. Turns out it was becasuse I no longer had the £10 HD pack. Switched that back on (I wanted it anyway) and then got the box for £150.

Didn't realise the porno 5 minute freebies were that low in the EPG channel list.

Got my 1tb box through yesterday and I must say navigating the menus is a lot faster than my Thompson box ever was. I've also got all my channels back that were either too pixelated to watch or just said 'no sattelite signal'.
Can't say I've noticed much difference in picture quality but I've only had a quick flick through the channels. Nice to see that it's a bit smaller than the old Thompson was too.

I rang up Sky up yesterday saying that my old Thompson box was acting up, crashing every other day. I wanted the 1tb box I looked online it was £249 but a friend had got it for £149 they checked their system said that I could get it for £149 too. I placed an order and should recieve by Monday. Didn't get any letter just asked nicely.

This 1TB box sounds very tempting! As we're out of warranty I'd been thinking of upgrading the HDD (since 50% of it is taken up with Peppa Pig and the like). What are the pros and cons of each approach? Sounds like the new box will perform better and I'll be back in warranty... but then there's Peppa Pig to consider (and, more importantly, old episodes of Tikkabilla that aren't constantly shown like Peppa is).
How much would a 1TB drive plus enclosures for copying run me? I imagine I wouldn't be saving much by upgrading myself -- right?

Anyone think they should display % sizes on the TB box as 4.4% etc, as now EVERYTHING I have recorded whether it be a 10 min SD prog or a 2+ hour HD film are all listed as "1%"?

Is it just me or do some of the current Anytime offerings not have any sound? Terminator Salvation is one of them. Other shows like A Bridge Too Far is fine (that might have just left Anytime) as is Robot Chicken. It's almost as if they uploaded versions without sound to my box on Thursday night/Friday morning.

Is there anyway of controlling what Anytime shows ? Most of mine is filled up with stuff from the movie channels, but as I dont subscribe to them I can't watch the films. Would be good to turn this off so other stuff gets a chance
