Don't forget the ITV HD channel has to be added manually.

Even when you add it when i tried it you still have to dick about to actually change to the ITVHD channel.
Or is there an easy way of watching it?

Buy Freesat?
Otherwise no, and you can't even record it either. Just as well there is nothing on it.

this seems an awesome deal
I used to have a pace box, which was fine, this was recalled because
a cable tie was missed off on the internal wiring
I now have a samsung, which seems sluggish and sometimes unresponsive,
not sure whether this is a one off, I thought most the boxes were supposed to be just as good as each other.
so I would refuse a samsung, but other people may have different experiences.

All the boxes are sluggish apart from the new Amstrad 500gb , its the new EPG thats killed the old boxes and made them slow
You wont get a choice BTW they will fit what they have been given.

Our Amstrad HD box audio output is very low - to the point that we need to whack the TV up to full volume regularly Is anyone else seeing the same problem?
Is there any way to correct it?

Do you have it wired up via optical ?
Think there is a problem with the optical out when you switch between HD & SD programs

Mine seems fine, what version firmware is it running ? (settings, details, model number)
They were shipped with 1.0.240 IIRC latest is 1.0.260 if you do a forced update you should get the latest version

since getting Sky+HD in late October and spending 3 months paying for multiroom which we didn't ask for or get i've just had another Ł78.22 credited to my account due to $ky threatening to charge us the same amount again for cancelling multiroom early!
Only last month i got the better part of Ł100 credited to my account becuase i had spent two months sorting out their cockup even having to take it to the Executive Support Team and being called by them directly.
Apparently Rupert Murdoch is unable to employ anybody who can actually do their job. With any luck they will do the same again in a month or two and i'll get some more free cash!

Thinking of upgrading to HD, just wondering if the 1TB is worth getting over the standard.

You should have the card before the install, we did when we had ours installed last December and I guess it was the same for anyone else who had HD installed

Hi,
Hope someone can offer some advice on HDMI over ethernet performance and hardware.
I am booked for install of a Sky HD box at the end of next week, free box, install and 12 months HD sub so couldn't really say no! My current setup (far too detailed a description here which I blame no-one well apart from Alan for not reading) basically means that I don't have a straight HD viewing option (720p projector and TVs not in the same room as the Sky box). Plan to upgrade the projector at some point but not immediately.
The only viable option to get HD to the remote locations seems to be to distribute the signal via a HDMI over ethernet solution - perhaps using something like this : Link
The total distance is less than 30m - anyone any experience of these ? Any recommendations as to which cables would be suitable ? Any other thoughts ?
TIA
Charlie

no digital sound coming out of the HD box via a splitter :(
Hi all,
Had SkyHD installed on Wednesday, but didn't have enough digital optical cable to get it setup with digital output so the installer just did the analogue sound output.
Have now got some more cables (and a splitter so that the DVD player and SkyHD box can share the amp's 1 digital input) but when I set it all up I get no sound throught the amp.
If I take the splitter (which I got from here) out of the equation then the sound comes out.
Reading elsewhere I got the distinct impression that splitters can do I what them to do - and I know it's not cheapo cable as a direct connection works.
Anyone got a splitter like the above which definitely works ?
TIA for any help.
Regards,
Adam Brunt
