My Ds game boxes - what do the colours mean?
I am very i know this.
I have 13 DS games. of the uk ones, all have white spines and then most have a green flash on the bottom corner. But i have 2 that are different. 1 has yellow (project rub) and one is red (lost in blue).
do the different colours mean anything or not? They all appear to be different publishers (or not all nintendo anyway)
(if i look closely 2 appear to be blueish and not green but i'll ignore that for now and have a sit down)

The US boxes all have coloured spines to match the front artwork. The two UK ones that don't proberly just used the US artwork.

well my 5 US games all have different coloured spines. but all the 13 UK ones have white spines with a small flash at the bottom. these are the ones i am questioning.
just an idle wonder really. I shall ensure all the NON GREEN FLASH are seperated from the green flash ones.

I was wondering this myself! I noticed my Nintendogs has a different colour flash to all my other UK games, that i suppose could denote it as a bundled game...maybe.

My UK DS games have the following different colours on the spines;
10 x Green (Dr Kawashima's Brain Training, New Super Mario Bros, Tetris DS, Mario Kart DS, Mr Driller: Drill Spirits, Tony Hawks American Sk8land, Zoo Keeper, Super Mario 64DS, Resident Evil: Deadly Silence)
03 x Blue (Meteos, Phoenix Wright:Ace Attorney, Nintendogs: Dachshund & Friends)
01 x Pink (Viewtiful Joe - Double Trouble)
03 x Red (Bust a moved DS, Nanostray, Castlevania: Dawn of Sorrow)
It would seem the colour differences are random.

The different colours refer to the languages included and so what countries they can be used in.

Aaah, thats what it is. Looking at my games, a green marker means UK only/English language, and the other colours support various other languages.

from n-europe.com:

For some reason, in PAL territories, Nintendo had some kind of coding system on their boxes for games. It tells what the region the game was meant for. The green triangle is a UK one, pink ones are generally Europe, and here in Australia, we have brown ones. Pointless really, because it is all the same game, however, in some regions there a bi-lingual or even tri-lingual instruction manuals. This is also related to the region coded triangles.

From NGC magazine:

Answer: Nintendo manufactures every game for every PAL territory in a huge factory at the company HQ near Frankfurt. To ensure localised versions of the games go to the correct country, they're marked with colour-coded flashes on the box inserts. Green is for the UK only, purple is for Germany, and presumably brown is for Australia. As for the pink-badged games, I believe they're intended for both the UK and the Netherlands.
