Ignoring the arguement on whether he played well (or are you saying he didn't indulge in abit a theatrics) do you think he didn't start because he was coming back from injury? I don't see Garcia as our best player on the right or good enough to be considered as a forward.

I know I have a bit of a problem with Garcia because of his wastefullness - if he didn't pop up with the occasional (crucial) goal he wouldn't be worth keeping at Anfield IMO. As I said before, you don't always get the same view when you are actually at the match but I'd be interested to see what people thought he did well. I'll watch the match tonight on TV and see if my opinion needs adjusting too but at this point I'll stick by my (nonsense) opinion.

p.s. - you could just say you don't agree rather than calling my view 'sheer nonsense' - it's less likely to come across as argumentative....

Garcia is a useful Luxury player...

His strength is the fact that he usually does things that people don't legislate for. This normally involves him trying something stupid and conceding possession.

However 3% of the time, what he tries does work and nomally changes a game.

Last night however, I thought he was very good. I actually counted quite a few passes that he made that found the person he intended them to. He was also quite direct in his running which put pressure on the opponents defence.

He also put a great cross in that Crouch didn't gamble on.

I am with you on this one. He has scored some class goals and he does warrant his place in the team but he is not a starter, a good striker option or as a winger.

Last night he was his usual wastefull self and although it was a foul he did go down looking for an oscar.

Had he started I don't think he would have made much of difference.

Terry is the England Captain. It's on the BBC. Shame as Gerrard would have made a good England captain.

Not really surprised about Terry getting the captaincy, I'm sure Terry will do OK but reckon Gerrard would be more inspirational.
The main reason it seems odd to me is that he is seen as a senior pro but prior to the World Cup he wasn't even a definite starter, and he didn't exactly raise the bar during the tournament, whereas Gerrard has already been a first choice international for over 5 years
Probably red-tinted glasses, but then I'm surely not the only one on here who puts the Liverpool captaincy above the England one anyway

Being England captain is more trouble than its worth, the media are never off your back. From our point of view it is good that Terry got it.

I still think it's awful.

My sister, who normally wouldn't know anything about football kits caught part of the game by accident last night and rang me up.

Is that your team playing? I confirmed it.

What is that awful shirt they're wearing? she asked.

I had to concur.

Wearing my new shirt now. I really like it, the collar isn't a problem at all.

Maybe I'm lucky and it "wears" well on me!

Were you in GAME back of the inns today?

I saw someone in there today when I was getting my new 360 wearing a new 'pool home shirt.

Nah wasn't me. I was at work today, and I don't think they would have been too pleased if I came back from lunch wearing my shirt

I tend to mostly go in Game on St Stephens street as it's just round the corner from work. Yes I work at NU

My identity is safe for now

May still go for a Fowler shirt if I like the look of the away one when I see it for real.

As already mentioned by someone else they had a lot of the training gear aswell. Some of the tops looked really good

Trust me though, if you think our shirt looks bad. Check out the Manc's one, it looks even worse in person

I actually quite like the look of the away one.

I emailed work today and offered to go back tomorrow but they said that as the doctor said a week to be clear of infection I cant go back till next wednesday!

So I migh go down and spend a long leisurely afternoon looking tomorrow.

I take it sports world in chapelfield is the best place to go?

And got any jobs going?

Sports world in chapelfield was rammed with them! Didn't look at other places for prices just went there.

It's £31 for the shirt with no name and number. £38 with Stevie G or Carra. Not sure how much for a custom request.

I didn't think I would like to collar, thought it would be too big, but once I tried mine on when I got home I really liked it. One of the nicest shirts we've had for a long time now.

No jobs going at the moment I'm affraid I help support Lotus Notes.. But that's another story

You consider www.eatsleepsport.com a reliable source?

Im after a bit of advice on getting tickets. Basically from October there are flights from Inverness to Liverpool and flying down on the Friday and returning on the Sunday after the game is possible.

Last season i got to see two games because my brother got given tickets by one of the companies he deals with at his work.. But i havent bought tickets for a while (think the last time i did was the game against Steaua in November 2003 ).

Is it as simple anymore as sending a cheque 21 days before the game and i should get a ticket? atm the Villa game on the 28th October is looking favourite...

No - not anymore.

Basically if you're not a ST holder or a member of the Priority Ticket Scheme, getting hold of a ticket for a home game is very hard these days. Although, obviously, it does depend on the standard of opposition.

I will happily be corrected though as being a ST holder myself - I have never found myself in the position you're in for a good few years.

Careful - don't ask questions about shirts and where to buy them. MartinC might get upset!

31 quid isn't too bad. Is the away one actually out yet?
