Take note Zenden, that's where a left winger should be

Well taken goal that. Not bad for his debut.

Great start for Gonzalaez.
See Crouch still hasn't learnt how to jump/head, and a terrible dive from Garcia.
Overall not very good.

Riise our main let down tonight, had an absolute mare of a game.
Momo was my man of the match, solid centre mid performance and so nearly got his goal at the end.

Definately need to improve, but at least we got the win in the end. Thought Pennant was man of the match and his link-up play with Finnan was very good.

Penannt was excellent, particularly in the second half when he started taking people on and crossing the ball.
No way was that a dive by Garcia, though.
As for Balstino - anyone who TRIES TO SETTLE AN ARGUMENT BY YELLING AT US.
IS
BEST
IGNORED!

Well sloppy at the back though.

Think we may see more of Paletta quicker than we realise. What's been happening with Agger?
Is he injured, don't seem to have heard much about him.

balstino must be sobbing his eyes out that the horrible piece of scum that should never play for our club got us back into the game
And good that another debutant, who has been overly criticised on this and other LFC forums for some bizarre reason, gets us the winner.
Riise was poor, Macabi had a player clearly offside for their goal which I think put JAR off.
Pennant and Bellamy both did OK and hopefully Alonso is just worn out still from the WC

Ah, so it's unreasoanble prejudice on his behalf! Did wonder what was behind it.
I am not Bellamy's biggest fan, but if he keeps his nose clean then I am prepared to give him a chance. I wouldn't be so blinkered as to ignore such an obviously good perfomance.

The new boys did very well. Pennant was excellent tonight and that was reflected by the crowd. It was a poor game for a few of the others though. Alonso was dreadful at times. Anyway, we won and would have scored more on another day.

I bet if Bellamy scores 20 this season, Balstino will still be unhappy.

Bellamy's strength is his pace to run at defenders, and he's pretty much ineffective unless the opposition plays with a high line - Haifa pretty much sat back. Crouch was far more effective, and Mark Gonzales, what a finish.

True, but he wont get that much time in the premiership.

thought that other one wasn't interfering with play?
Pennant put some excellent balls in the box second half.. really awkward ones, Crouch and Fowler especially will have a field day when they start latching onto those.
lucky today.. you could see Riise and Alonso for example really struggling in terms of fitness. will be much improved for the return though so should be fine.
I'm just wondering how they are going to fit everyone in the team sheet and keep them happy.
so with Zenden, Riise, Gonzalez, Kewell and Aurelio... how are they going to keep them all playing regularly... even Garcia who occasionally plays on the left.
Riise and Aurelio will rotate for LB so they are okay.
I think Kewell will be sold at some point, Spurs was rumoured but nothing since. too many for that position/ area.
